The Daily Mail story covers many of the points mentioned by above posts:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3561319/Ta...
'Afterwards, he undertook me then cut me up. He could have written my car off.'"
Does not compute.

I think this kid has been featured before. Seems to be a proper geeky car spotter who gets his kicks from getting driven about really badly by strangers in fast cars.
this morning when I read this I my first thought was it was them!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo5Ggl0TUSs

Cyclist wasn't waiting anywhere, they were moving fowards, the truck pulls out to overtake them, and at that moment the cyclist decides to turn left without even looking.
Well, you can't see what she's doing as the truck blocks our view, but anyway what you've said is the second scenario I mentioned. Truck sees her, overtakes at the junction, hits her. Trucks fault.

Nonsense - if you're driving down the road, and overtake a cyclist, who decides to turn right in front of you at the last second, is it your fault you hit them?
Not to be a mate, but yes it would be my fault if I did that. Thought it was common sense not to overtake past a junction since surprisingly people might want to turn there. Might even be in the HWC.edit: here you go, #167

I will be honest to hold up my hand and say I always give cyclists a wide bearth, know what daft antics they pull, but I didnt know it was in the HC.

Good find, problem I think is so many cyclists are not motorists and have absolutely no idea about road safety, (before anyone says it, same applies to a number of motorists), how often do you approach a cyclist and their right hand shoots out, did they look, not a chance. If their life not mine.

I think most cyclist are motorists. How many motorist indicate without checking first? or even indicate? same thing. I will be honest to hold up my hand and say I always give cyclists a wide bearth, know what daft antics they pull, but I didnt know it was in the HC.

The police need to take a look at that.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo5Ggl0TUSs

You mean how dangerous cyclists can be to themselves. In that particular clip, the cyclist attempts to turn left right in front of the truck.
Cyclists-motor bikers do put themselves into danger! I think he should go and put the lottery on now....http://youtu.be/WhjKaleW2Z4

this is another country though. I bet you they never read the highway code and have poor bike safety/defensive riding educaiton (or none at all). both guys are massive idiots. the first one for wanting to filter at speed between lorries and the 2nd one for trying to filter past (or not paying attention). that kind of chaotic harmony (made that up) is fine at low speeds in a town area where 95% are other bikes but not on the road he was on.http://youtu.be/WhjKaleW2Z4

I totally agree, absolutely barking.U.K. Rider with all his Highway Code knowledge, just a shame Mr selco didn't use his, as he wonders why he has a bike under his lorry.

Maybe the police couldn't identify who was driving at the time so arrested both? SHould edit to add, not happy someone has been killed, sad for the family.

The police really need to crack down on this st, start handing out huge bans and start crushing some cars (obviously the second part will be difficult due to the complex chain of ownership these cars seem to have - 'I'm borrowing it from my cousin's boyfriend's uncle' etc).
It's happening too often with a certain demographic for it to be a coincidence. Always seems to be in the same areas too.

Another 30 minute selection from the East, however there are a couple of NSFW's.

A few questions if i may....
1) When it is obvious there is a car approaching fast heading towards you, and you wish to turn across its path into a junction, why continue probably knowing full well you wont make it?
2) There a few on there, that are travelling at a reasonable speed, and so why do they all of a sudden start fish tailing for no apparent reason on a perfectly dry road?
3) Snow/Ice is always a problem for any vehicle, so why do they think it is ok to drive at a speed unsuitable for the conditions?
4) With so many dash cams fitted, do drivers get prosecuted if they cause a fatal accident, especially as the evidence is there 'on film'?
5) Do they actually take driving lessons or have any form of driving test?
6) Do they not have any sense of self preservation?
7) Are there no speed limits?
8) Do they think that they will be ok and not use the brake pedal when it is obvious they are going to hit something/one?

A lot of the spin out on a dry road is because they're going far too fast for the condition of the road. They'll hit a vicious pothole at a high enough speed that the suspension bottoms out, leading to a control loss. Once they touch the dirt road-side it's all over.
If they had stability control on the cars it'd save a huge number of accidents.

In that one the road looks very bumpy, with the car bobbling up and down, you can see it's right on the edge before the lorry passes, and once that waft of air destabilises the car it's gone. Again, far too fast for the piss-poor roads with knackered dampers.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
