To help overcome the aerodynamic weaknesses of the 911 shape at 200mph? In real life motoring they produce lots of drag surely?

I think the 911 has been fairly efficient aerodynamically over the years.
Smaller than most comparable cars too so surface area will be less.

It is efficient I agree, but prone to lift at high speeds, hence the need for an add on rear wing rather than the body shape providing downforce.

Did you mean the height of the rear wing? The wing being what produces the drag?

If so, I mis-understood at first.

to be quite honest.. If that wasnt pink and was instead something like very dark blue or black it would look quite smart.. Nothing OTT other than the colour.

You're in luck then!

The fact they're called "Fantom" is enough to set alarm bells ringing, personally. Seems like they're building their company around colouring in bits of trim and adding quilted leather, watch out Kahn! hehe

Having a 3 tonne car that blends in is an art form. Quiet, subtle, anonymous. (I love my grey FFRR).

You are allowed to disagree. The race car posted earlier I do like but explain to me the purpose of this car if it 'purposeful?'
The designer has said (dozens of times) that he makes his cars for their LOOK - that's their purpose.

They're not racers or performance tuned, he's making 'art' (of a sort) - cars which are OTT and designed for their owners and all that jazz.

Thus they're very, very purposeful - it's just you didn't know what their purpose was smile
What utter bks; your post and the car. It deserves to be in this thread. biggrin

Slight different reading of anonymous I think - yes, they are huge (especially when in little cars like TVRs or Caterfields), but as there are so many of them around, unless you know the plate, you are just not noticed on the road through numbers.
