The could call it the "Alfa Turnip" as far as I'm concerned.
It would have to be in Italian. All their cars use the Italian language name.

In which case, the Alfa Romeo "Turnip" would actually be called the Alfa Romeo Rapa which actually sounds Ok. smile

Sounds like Grapa, or a fishing lure or someone that drives a slammed, matt black Mercedes.

In Autocar's review the car sounds a lot more fruitier.

In Monkey's review it sounds a lot more like a shopping trolley - at mid revs?

Yup, highly unfair but true smile. Another translation could be: Alfa Romeo Barbabietola. Racy!

Wrong.

Just thought I should mention that, in the interest of this not becoming some internet folklore.

Correct. Whilst it'd be nice to think I could singularly make up internet folklore, I was wrong in this case.

In my defence, my source was a long standing Alfista who should have known better. I think he was getting his Alfa's and Masers mixed up, poor old sod.

Car have tested it against the Elise and Cayman and it did very well, so much for the "Cayman will murder it".
