Though they are comprehensively blown into the long grass by things like TDi A8's. If you must have a diesel, do it right.

I'm just in the process of LPG converting my e60 545i, now that the engine and box are all rebuilt. I have a 3 series (e46 330i) and I think the big v8 5 is a nice step up. I'd rather it was 550i but I bought it cheap (broke engine and box).

I definitely wouldn't want a 335d instead.
A thread on the E60 and how you mended and converted it would be nice if you have the time.

How can the x35d be anything other than doing a diesel right? All joking aside, it's clearly one of the best diesel engines around.

The fact that a number of you have "ganged up" behind the safety of your keyboards speaks enormous volumes.

The fact that many of you will so easily choose to insult someone you don't even know is very revealing.

Here's the truth folks - you are all suffering some fairly significant insecurity - I've had similar people realise the error of their ways and apologise rather profusely and I now keep in regular touch. All have revealed some sort of major life issue without fail.

Some of the insults here are quite frankly appalling and any mods worth their salt should be handing out multiple warnings and bans.

Now look at yourselves you nasty little people and ask, am I actually bad or is it just a vent to try and make your ever so mundane, dull lives feel a little better? It absolutely is and I can say with total certainty that all of you have some major problem - without resorting to checking your history like you cretins have done with me (clearly you CAN'T ignore me) I know that Squeeze suffers major health issues; that's sad to hear but it's just an example of what I'm talking about.

Searching for old posts, insulting me, checking my history and garage - who is the real tool here eh? A bunch of internet geeks that got bullied at school. I know the exact types - they stay in IT, make a few bob (sometimes) and become intolerable ar5es. I worked in IT recruitment for years; I've seen it all.

You utter geeks NEED people like me to try and make up for a pretty rubbish life. Mine couldn't be better thanks. Yours sucks.

MODS - sort this out please; it makes the forum look bad, it shows a very nasty side of an otherwise decent place to talk cars and other things.

No,however many times you edit it you still look like a toollaugh

As for me just flown b/class (which probably cost more than your 335 is worth) over to Perth WA and now sat watching my little boy play in the pool. Whilst googling and chilling. Did have toothache last week tho' if that makes you feel a little better vlad the man.

You are a classic wannaby who thinks he is better than people, when in reality we are all the same and some have nothing to prove.

Lots of love to the missus (all of her) wink

Welcome to Perth.

335d? no thanks.
RWD is required and auto isn't a problem. I just don't want a BMW or Diesel.

I was thinking more of it being packaged in a pokey little 3 series. If you must have a diesel, a 4.0TDi A8, a V10 Tdi Phaeton or 2.7TDVi Jaguar XJ would be the cars I would go after. Might as well go for the full sized executive if you're not buying for fun.

For a daily hack, for people who live on real world wages driving in real world conditions, a 335/535d is a pretty complete package, and just shows how far diesels have come. Coupled to a typically great BMW chassis, they are a superb car. All the power & torque is easily accessible, & will cruise happily at triple figures all day long.

They are NOT a replacement for a "fun" car, but for the job they are designed to do I don't think there is much out there to touch them.
I'd take a 330i over the 335d or 335i personally. Cheaper, less aggro and pretty decent on fuel. The cleverer diesels become the less attractive they are to own.

Fridgies and AC? Plenty of work. Have you got your Aus cirtificates though?

Audi Diesel engines have always lagged behind BMW's offerings, embarrassingly so.
I think the V6 3ltr diesel Audi is better than the straight 6 3ltr diesel BMW equivalent.
