On google the surface looks poor and broken.
Not in my experience. Haven't been down that way for a couple of months though.

Bit of a shame, I guess google cashe will have will have it for the police and insurance companys to go over. I'm sure with the video clip showing cars and the posters comments it'd be easy to work out who was in attendance.

The cynic in me says that the picture of the screw is a little too perfect. And without being 100% (obviously) could ANY adhesive stick a screw strongly enough if a car went over it at speed it wouldn't move? Saying that if it was a disgruntled resident. I wonder if they'll be out over on the airport complaining about them too?

Video sounds like the car goes over at least twice.

Sad for all concerned, but I doubt this will change anything in the long term. I'll expect a "Death by misadventure ruling in due course"

What do you mean by that? Someone's crouched down and taken a photo using a phone or camera with a flash. What's overly perfect about it?

Why would they need to do that? If there was more than one screw then the one in the photo could be a different one from the one stuck in the tyre.

Sounds like a case of natural selection to me. I'm just glad that some poor sod driving home wasn't involved. I know how I'd feel if these dheads slammed into a car with my wife and daughter in it because "they were just having some fun, innit".

I do agree, I would have expected big wide shots of the other screws, and plenty of other pics, rather than one where it looks like too much care has been put into getting a perfect shot.

Anyway, it's looking more and more like the screw can be discounted so it's a bit of a moot point.

EFA. Let's not pretend it's a new phenomenon. Twenty years ago they would probably heve been joyriding.

No doubt today Plod can't do much because those doing it have little to lose/suffer from the punishments given these days.

Also less TrafPol per car km driven these days?

... think someone may be able to salvage the interior..? It was a leather one by the looks of things.

Totally agree with you, what a tragic waste of a classic car that's getting rarer and rarer thanks to situations like these...

You fking sad bd Re the interior comment.

These cars are rare because most were either broken for parts,or hardly ever used.

Hmmmm... fair point... not sure I'd want to sit on leather that someone removed themselves from the mortal coil on. Would be... uncomfortable...
