Barn find E36 M3 Evo and mk2 Golf GTI 16v

Somehow the number plates have gone blank, so please don't ask me any silly questions about the cars.

Hmm, smell a rat here. Quite clearly a staged barn find, however the final comments do suggest that he is stoically defending his position regarding it being legitimate. Will be interesting to see the outcome once the boys have been over tomorrow to check it out.
My guess was, and is, that its a bitsa: built from parts and sold without provenance, itll end up on a value-busting Q plate.

Doesnt his past buying history include parts now seen on the car in quastion? The 'barn find' was comically poor and a bit of a half-arsed sales idea too.

"CASH ON COLLECTION ONLY AND MUST BE COLLECTED 24HRS OF THE AUCTION ENDING -DUE TO SPACE PROBLEMS"

What space problems - his friend suddenly remembered he had another use for the barn that he had forgotten about?

As said earlier, fishier than a bag of prawns, but may indeed be a red herring.

I'm thinking that the original owner has actually identified the motor as his, but as he's already spent the insurance payout.....

Maybe he (or a friend) will end up as the winning bidder eh?

OMG what an ending that would be :swoons like a silent movie starlet:

That wouldnt matter - the car would then become the property of the insurance company and they would dispose of as they see fit.

Or in order to shut up a load of keyboard warriors the original owner has come back & said the car isn't his to let the law take its course.

Have you read the scooby thread? They were talking of getting together in a group to try & find they seller (a few of them lived close by).

Something tells me this one isn't over yet.....

Here is a genuine barn find. left by the owner over 50 years ago. The bare bones of it are salvageable but the buyer has responsibility for moo-ving it.

I can guarantee no b*llsh*t with this one.

Needs to make room for those other cars in the background to be 'discovered'.

Expect a similar auction with another car in the same barn but taken from a different angle in the near future.
