Right, well having asked SCL to take me off their database last week, I just received this. I thought it was something free as an apology, but I have to buy a track day first (and insurance?!).

I'm going to defend SCL *on this one thing only* - it does sometimes take a couple of weeks for changes to a marketing database to have an effect. That campaign selection might already have been created and the mailing written - so you might have been too late to get your details removed before they decided which "customers" to email out their "special offer" to.

Still unprofessional idiots though. wink

I believe they are firmly in head-in-sand mode hoping it will blow over.
Might I suggest we don't let that happen?

What have Evo done about this?
Can't say I've ever been a big fan (it's not technical enough for me) but I certainly wont be buying it now.

This.

I'd rather let everyone know what this prize act is up to, especially those who google for reviews of such products/services etc before making a 'purchase'. I really couldn't give a toss about so-called businesses like this, they haven't got a proper business model, its just a scam whereby they are deceiving potential customers into an apparent 'free' product.

And their response to this all is just absolutely laughable, its surprising they've managed to sustain a business up to now.

So, you're saying I shouldn't accept the prize if they offer it, and that it smells like a scam?

So companies house doesn't appear to list directors.. if I found another source with potentially incorrect information.. it doesn't list a John McCrae as a director which leads me to believe that John McCrae doesn't own it but does have a family connection and Mr. Corrigan was having a laugh?

Anyway, I just think we need to be prepared in the eventuality they attempt to re-brand to side-step this PR disaster.

I've been in touch with them and there was certainly no apology. I can't comment on whether their product is good or not but, as a general rule, I wouldn't work with a company I don't feel I can trust.

There is a Steven Mccrae listed as a director of Supercar Lifestyle Ltd.

I suspect that he is possibly related to John James Mccrae who is a former director of a TVR garage based not a million miles (not even one mile!) from Supercar Lifestyle Ltd.

Cash in bank of £2??

The assets won't be worth what they paid for them now. Effectively their assets are worth less than liabilities and with cash in the bank of that little they're effectively trading on a knife edge at best.

I need a bigger bargepole.
