I wonder how much longer painted black wheels and blacked out badges will stay in fashion?

Many a mini around my way had those nudge bars - most were also fitted with a rear facing halogen spot as a reversing light.
I built a mini back in the day for the first wife .

When the wife got pregnant I sold it to my sisters very chesty friend who wrote it off within 3 weeks .

I have 3 spoke Advans on my MR2. I think they are lovely. I know they are pretty polarising, but that suits me fine as it means they are usually cheap to buy!

Has the rear suspension collapsed? Lovely looking car, but they drive like a dogs with that much negative camber.

Garfields suckered onto side windows
Utterly enormous steering wheel locks that looked like bin lids
Anti-roadrage boxes that played machine gun noises when you press a button (inside the car!)

The biggest mod I can think of that was a one-year-wonder was those black strips you always saw on the front of people's bonnets. Everyone had them, vans, boy racers, cheap GTs, what happened to them? Did people realise they were useless and looked idiotic, or did they just go out of fashion like a meme?

As for factory mods, what happened to huge amounts of chrome, huge engines, tiny pillars, massive fins, bench seats, column shifters, stupidly soft suspension, ride heights that would be useless here.... Basically what happened to those late 50s yank tanks compared to the miserable namby-pamby boxes people drive now?
