I did think that might be what you meant, but in the presentation there was no mention of that car, only the F1
Which to my mind is a pity as when you look at the M6 & the F1 there's clearly a strong connection between the two. Whether that was intended or not is impossible to say. In some ways it shows how close Bruce got to something very extraordinary. Just imagine what the supercar world would look like if Bruce had survived and the M6 GT had gone into full scale production.

Would you prefer the driver released a homing pigeon rather than sending a text message?

Personally I'd be happy with the AA / RAC but somehow I can't see potential owners being too happy at having their lovely cars dragged and scraped unceremoniously up a ramp. The problem I find with homing pigeons is that they take their time and can make a mess of the leather. wink

Except that it's jobs in China where a very high percentage of this car is made.

Really?

Many of these will end up in China though for they can afford them.

Can't get the video from the office and can't find it on my phone.

So I took the opertunity of watching a couple of videos on you-tube.

A Mcl guy who was talking about the development of the car was saying how easy they want it to be to drive.

I wonder if thats a good idea. I have an A2, a mate has an R8. Travelling in the two is very similar except in the R8 your arse is nearer the ground.

I hope they don't sanitise this new Mcl to extent they have the R8.

Do you speak from a position of knowledge here? I'm just curious if that's an opinion based on knowing or having seen the McLaren tub or is it's just an assumption?

Genuine question.
I know a guy who works for an aerospace company who Mclaren subcontract some of their Carbon fiber work to. He has done a few impromptu "experiments" with the stuff the Mclaren lot work with versus the stuff he works with. he's not terribly complimentary to say the least. hehe
Having watched the launch, and heard about the same 'tub' or 'cell' or whatever it's called going through 3 crash tests, I'd say your mate was talking ste!

For what it's worth, I think it's a fabulous thing, and I suspect we have no real idea of exactly how good it's going to be.

What evidence have you for this claim ?

If I could afford one I would want it in McLaren's F1 Chrome-effect paint. It would look amazing and really set the car apart from rivals. It will be interesting to see if it's an option on their configurator - and how much it costs. As it was developed especially for McLaren, I suspect it would be ferociously expensive !

Yep, one which will be entry level hopefully under £65K and one which will be the successor to the F1.

Gotta love the British. Nothing we like more than to knock down our own. 75% of the comments on this thread about a new and seemingly rather good British sports car, are negative...

So only one area of this car then? wink Of course there's a hell of a lot of parts made in China; that's modern manufacturing for you.

It seems an unusual amount of components are made in this country though, and of course they're designed and assembled here. This is very good.

Most of the comments (me included) were knocking the presentation and the way it was handled. It was a bit mickey mouse, to be fair, and I would have expected more from a long established company with plenty of experience.

Not that it wasn't interesting, but some of the speeches were a bit long winded and repetitive. And the speakers weren't exactly full of character.
