Just drove the A39 from Bude to Clovelly. A good way to stretch the legs of the V10. Was so good I turned around and drove back. What a road - possibly one of the best in the country with stunning views too. Anyone driven it?
Yes, a few times. Further east, the 3358 over Exmoor is a good route tooCan recommend Barnstaple to Crediton, too.

...notwithstanding that the price is a pisstake! 30k chf??!
Had it been an original 3.8 with a genuine 28k on it, then maybe...Cartwheel said:
Funnily enough, I emailed the seller a while ago, but have had no response.Cartwheel said:
but as you say, its slim pickings out here. Might be worth importing one from Germany if you can be bothered?
It's a right faff to do and the resale will be impacted as it won't be a Swiss car but the choice will be better. Have a look on Mobile.de or autoscout24.de - if you buy from a dealer in Germany you may be able to purchase with the VAT already removed, which will save some hassle, and cost.
I'm always on mobile.de! There's a good-looking 3.6 on there... but it's in Riga! It's a right faff to do and the resale will be impacted as it won't be a Swiss car but the choice will be better. Quite liked that ropey looking M5 touring listed on there with 123'000 kms but given the bork factor I'll stay well away. Looks like you can still find tired examples for not much in France:

No history prior to the previous owner, who looks like he's had a crack at restoring it but gave up on the aircon.
Two things:
Ending up under one's moped on the Embankment having come to an instant stop from about 20-25mph hurts. Quite a lot. Even more so the next day. Be careful out there folks. Damaged Grubes, damaged pride and damaged scooter. Arse. I think I might mend it and sell it.
Second, I think we're settling on a £6-8k Scooby Legacy as the Gruber family car. Anyone got any experience of them? I don't think we can stomach the emmpeegees of the 3.0 so looking at a 4-banger.

Ouch, what happened? Ending up under one's moped on the Embankment having come to an instant stop from about 20-25mph hurts. Quite a lot. Even more so the next day. Be careful out there folks. Damaged Grubes, damaged pride and damaged scooter. Arse. I think I might mend it and sell it.

Didn't Scoob do a dag-dag? That'd be my port of call. Although I have to say, a 2.0 TDI Quattro A4 Avant would be my first choice #imagine
On the subject of scooters: this morning I bore witness to a young lad get airborne on his 125cc after taking a yump rather too quickly. Fair enough you might say, except he did this betwixt me and an artic lorry on a freeway...
And yes, you'd be right to raise an eyebrow at the fact such a feet is possible on a main arterial road. Welcome to Malaysia
Hope you recover swiftly, chap.

Rode it home. Jumped on a plane.
That first ride home on your first road bike after passing your test is quite scary isn't it? I remember passing my test and getting the train from Bournemouth to Margate to buy an R1, as soon as I got on it to ride home the heavens opened. Scary journey home that was! If anyone remembers my recent debarkle on what to spend my bonus on, which ended in the discussion of a long term "borrow" of a 430.
Well it didn't happen, I couldn't align my interest with the sellers concerns and extended timelines so it fell over.
On the bright side the little one is still in its womb so I have spent the cash on this.. It is unhinged!

Sorry to hear it. Touch wood, I've only had one incident in 9 years of my bicycle commute in London, but it hurt, and it took a few years for the instinctive nervousness to subside every time I rode past the spot where I was knocked off.Ending up under one's moped on the Embankment having come to an instant stop from about 20-25mph hurts.
