How on earth can you say they don't look identical - can't you see they are both red?

In fact, I just looked out my window to the company car park and saw a college's 1980s Toyota Corrola that's held together with gaffa tape - it's red and looks exactly like the jag too.

Its 1 shot from the front. When you see it form different angles you will not think it's so S2000 like. Its much better proportioned. That shot is a little misleading.
he was joking (I hope!)

For me, the coupé is the real gem, I love the roadster but never had any desire to actually own a convertible of any description. Your exterior and interior dream spec is a classic combo. Another for my ever increasing fantasy garage, til my numbers come up wink

I live near Gaydon too... where the people from JLR/Aston drive like idiots. I've lost count of the number of times one of them has decided to pull out on me from the lay-by on the Banbury side of Gaydon. When you're in a 27 year old MR2 with 240mm discs it's not a lot of fun!
Then I'd suggest it is time to upgrade your 27 year old rice burning deathtrap with... idea An F-Type

Can't be bothered to find the link but I thought I'd read that the side opening hatch was a no-go for some health and safety reason?

Ah, a H&S issue .... probably down to a Guardian campaign .... "SIDE OPENING REAR HATCH - THE WORK OF THE DEVIL! (and his banking chums too, no doubt). Boycott all JLR products now!"

.... sounds plausible to me at least wink

.... i'm not really up on this kind of thing, but is this not basically the same design of rear door? .... are vans now illeagal on H&S grounds?

The side opening rear hatch is indeed one of the nice things that they announced will NOT make it into production... Shame frown

That being said, for those who said the F-type had to look like the prototype from over ten years ago: folding mirrors and mirror surface are only two things that would NOT make it pass the EU legislations these days... amongst a shed load of other things like head lights not being visible enough from certain angles, DRLs made obligatory since 2011, repeater indicators, blah, blah, blah....

It's funny, I've driven past there 2,500 times now since 2008, maybe more and nobody has ever pulled out on me.
