Do all cars look worse with black wheels?

I know what the OP means but on the right car with the right colour / accent colours I think black wheels work and more so in the metal than in pictures possibly.
I am biassed though as this is mine with black Oz legennda in 17"

I now think that black wheels look good on most cars rather than (yawn) silver that is on nearly every car on the road.
I think the Golf on steels looks fantastic![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Agree not a great photo but I think it's clear enough to be able to see which is the wheel and which is the tyre ! It is all personal preference
A better quality photo

On a purely functional level a silver car with black rims is ideal. Silver body hides dirt well and black rims disguise brake dust build up. I have owned plenty silver cars that could go for weeks before they looked filthy (after fitting anthracite rims to a silver 156 it was the perfect combo)
Present car has a beautiful paint job (black with dark blue ceramic layer under the clear coat finish) but if I wash it today within 48 hours it looks filthy again. Do understand how black wheels can be associated with steel wheels that have lost their hubcaps though:

I loved this old W123 Merc but it had indeed lost it's hubcaps
