Has anyone worked out where they're doing their little protest? I'd like to go along and show my support*

*Well, perhaps support is the wrong word for it.

Contempt. That's it.
yeshehe

Edit for those tricky damn smileys.

I reckon in the Clifton area, I tried to find out but got no replies so I guess just have to motor around burning up expensive fuel till you find em.

Alternatively just following the musty dank smell straight to the hippies

David Rose said:
The 'arguments' expressed on this forum expose all the desperate excuses to 'justify' 4x4 ownership for what they really are: Climate Change denial and anti-social selfishness. 4x4 drivers are criminals. They kill pedestrians/cyclists in greater numbers than the drivers of smaller vehicles and the vast energy use in the construction and fueling of 4x4s is producing excess planet warming carbon that has no social or moral justification. The majority of the posts by 4x4 drivers are so aggressive and repulsive that at least our anti4x4 campaign can thank them for doing our work for us: ie: making 4x4 ownership uncool and socially unacceptable. Thanks guys! Please be aware that if you carry on making threats to ‘remove my eyes with a spoon’, then I will have to go to the Police. Your desire to buy and drive a stupid vehicle does not justify murder. The point is that we all have to do as much as we humanly can RIGHT NOW to reduce our carbon output in this Climate Emergency and 4x4 owners are refusing to take even the first step towards their own personal carbon reduction. In effect they are saying: '**CK YOU' to looming climate chaos and the rest of us cannot allow 4x4 drivers to carry on doing this. Your threats of violence, harassment and intimidation will only strengthen the resolve of this campaign and ensure it’s eventual success . 4x4s are going to be driven out of Bristol. I give you my word on that.

Get a job, and a life, you pathetic little idiot. Your arguments are unproven and unjustified, and your ramblings are that of a moron who reads the Daily Mail far too much.

Again he targets Clifton, thus proving it is about class wars.

There are just as many 4x4s knocking around the council estates in Southmead, Henbury, Lawrence Weston, Knowle and Hartcliffe. Places where children play on the streets...

Bet he won't go there and have a go at them will he?

Bugger all to do with class wars imho.

One area is affluent, the other council. The coucil area's cars will envitably be older, more smokey/polluting but will also have a far higher chance of getting his head kicked in if caught pouring mud on them.

Just try to explain this to them. They will see that many 4*4s are better environmentally than many non-4*4s including in some cases the Toyota Prius. laugh

What a jumped up little t$%t, what right does this to**er think he has to demand that 4x4 drivers stop using these vehicle for their business.
Many of us use them as a matter of necessety, and need then for transporting large bulky items around.
I've been involved with some of these tree hugging w**&^%s, and as I said to the last one "if we keeps getting summers like last year, I'll keep driving a "gas guzzler"".
So F*&K them, ad kick those townies out who demand the reducion of 4x4s just to please their own egos.

These people really get my bloodboiling. My Cayenne was vandalised by such a group - it annoyed me so much I decided to take a pragmatic approach, and drive the cars I want to, and clean up my mess as I go along - therefore my 4x4 is greener than most other cars on the road. It wasn't very straight forward to do, so Mrs Windsorphil has turned it into a business. You may or may not believe the science (I do), but Roses' approach only polarises people and he gets his arguements mixed up and he wants to take away my right to drive what I want to, or fly to where I want to, this I object to. So I take a pragmatic attitude - I'll clear up my mess after me, and I'll help others do the same, through www.mycarbondebt.com

Rose is hindering the debate, his ridiculous claims about murder in particular (lacking supporting data) are causing otherwise reasonable people to react in way that just widens the gap, rather than seeking a pragmatic, sensible and iterative way forward.

Phil.

yes
All I can say is, what a very sad and hateful man he is. Politics of envy simply has to be checked for the sake of all of the hard working, tax paying, law abiding majority. Giving hateful morons like this a platform for their spite is just as bad as giving the BNP policy any credibility, both equally cancerous to freedom loving people!

I think that everything that Mr Rose has said is reasonable and that he seems to have really rattled your cages to have become so personal in your attacks. Wake up and smell the coffee- we really are living in the Age of Stupid when people won't face up to the seriousness of the threat to all our lives and "lifestyles". It won't give me any satisfaction to think that you will one day realise that you were wrong about this. By then it will all be way too late.

You signed up just to say that.

What a bell rolleyes

ETA something constructive:

There are absolutely no circumstances where it is acceptable to deface someone's property (be it temporarily with mud or with something more permanent). Just becuse someone doesn't agree with someone's choice of vehicle does not give them the right to harass the owner (I don't go around my local town sticking pictures of smoke belching coal fired power stations on the windows of G-Wizz's).

In my considered opinion after the edit, you remain a bell
