I think that everything that Mr Rose has said is reasonable and that he seems to have really rattled your cages to have become so personal in your attacks. Wake up and smell the coffee- we really are living in the Age of Stupid when people won't face up to the seriousness of the threat to all our lives and "lifestyles". It won't give me any satisfaction to think that you will one day realise that you were wrong about this. By then it will all be way too late.

Throwing mud over peoples cars is not the solution to climate change! Even getting rid of cars won't make enough of a difference. Cows cause more problems by farting methane gases. I don't see hippy wk face mr Rose slinging mud over daisy do i now! In fact i may sling some mud over him for not having a job and not helping out with economic recovery!

This story makes my blood boil, I dont even drive a 4x4 but it makes me want this guy to get run over by his morning bus.

Some people really are fecking morons. My dad manages to get a better mpg out of his 2.7 discovery 3 than i do in my e46 bmw 318i during general driving. There is only about 40cm differance in length. Hardly worse than your average family car!

Who do you work for? because, only someone with a vested interest in AGW could utter such drivel as that.

They just show complete ignorance by focussing on one "shape" of car.

So they would put mud on a 2.0d low emissions "4x4", but not a 6 lire VW saloon?

We have a simple self regulating system that penalised "gas guzzlers", and it is called petrol tax. In addition, as we know - trading in your car and getting a new one which has been manufactured and shipped to the UK on a great big ship has thousands of miles of pollution impact before it even turns a wheel.

Almost makes me want to buy a V8 Range Rover.

I am guessing that these idiots dont actually know sweet FA about cars, and whilst I am not trying to say that 4x4s do not pollute - generally they are no worse than big saloons or MPVs etc. Yes, I am comparing petrol with diesel - but look at the following figures, took me two minutes to drag this off the Parkers site.

So, will these idiots be throwing mud on Lexus RX Hybrid? - yes. And in the same token with they be throwing mud on a petrol Ford Galaxy? - no.

Land Rover Discovery (04 on) 2.7 TDV6 GS (09) 5d
270 g/km

BMW 5-Series Saloon (96-03) 540i 4d (00)
295 g/km

Mercedes-Benz R-Class (06 on) R350 5d Auto
271 g/km

Ford Galaxy (95-00) 2.8 V6 Ghia 5d (7 Seat)
271 g/km

Lexus RX (09 on) 450h 3.5 SE 5d CVT Auto
148 g/km

So, just because it is a 4x4 doesn't make it any worse than plenty of other cars out there. I feel sorry for these idiots, and they think 4x4 owners are ignorant. I saw a TV program not too long ago, with a guy shouting abuse at a guy in a RX 350h, the bloke put his window down and "it's a hybrid" The guy who was protesting paused, and then said "yeah, well ..........its still too big" banghead
