Great website....xtranormal. How long did it take you to make the film?
IT's quite quick once you get used to how the icons work. I managed to knock this up (full of esoteric humour for another forum unfortunately) in an hour or so.http://www.xtranormal.com/watch?e=2009101014311810...

The time it takes to process small changes wastes a bit of time, but once I got to grips with how it works I reckon it took about an hour.E31Shrew said:
I had to try it 4 or 5 times and eventually opened.
I think they had a problem with the server over the last couple of days. Seems OK today though.fastfreddy said:

weird that that happened to you, a similar thing happened to me. i was in the market for a jap performance car and was looking at evo's, 350z's and s2000's. i went to a garage in salisbury to look at an evo9. like you i was jusy trying to find the right car for me, although i would have bought on finance with a trade in of my current car (£6000 value) as deposit. i looked over the evo (priced at £14k) and decided i was keen to test drive to make my final decision. when i asked the guy at the garage he looked at me and just said "no". well i was a bit confused so asked him why not. he said it was because he had just cleaned it! i think the real reason was that although i am 34 i look (or so i'm told) younger and i got the impression he thought i was a 'test pilot'. so like you i just told him that he was losing a potential sale. he didnt seem fussed. I then went to s2000-4u last saturday and i was also told i couldnt test drive a car until i had decided which one i wanted and sorted out the finance. luckily though this time i explained that i would not decide to buy a car until i had driven it. The sales guy saw sense and i test drove an s2000 and bought it that day. I imagine garages that stock a lot of performance and sports cars do get a few requests for test drives when the customers clearly have no interest in buying but i think they should be a bit smarter about spotting the difference!

Or accept that they're going to get a few wrong uns in their cars in order to make some sales. I've walked away from a few dealerships in my time after having been refused a test drive, only to spend the same or even more money elsewhere within days.Libertine said:

We should make a wiki of all the threads that show why you shouldn't mess with PH. This one, the BMW side light one, lots of great ones out there.
What happened with that one? I cant find it. PH took exception to the guys actions. Worked out where he lived. Got all his e-bay auctions shut down. And generally reported him for Tax evasion etc.

Face/palm slap. Such is the misguided arrogance that they expect you to almost buy the car before a testdrive. I wonder how many people out there just buy the car/pressganged into signing then realising a couple of days later it really wasnt suitable for them? When I passed my test I went into a Ford dealers and asked a question on a Fiesta in the showroom. Just one question. Salesman said 'one minute', went away, cameback and guided me to a desk where his manager was sat with an order form and pen ready for me to complete and sign. I was gobsmacked (no I didnt buy a car from them!).
In general though- anytime I ask for a testdrive Im normally given the keys and allowed to go out solo.
Took the 996 in for some work, and was having a look around the 997 (quite new at the time) in the showroom when the salesman asked if i fancied a test drive.
I politely explained that while i liked it - i had just bought the 996 and didnt quite have the budget for one... he said doesnt matter, come have a go and see what you think..

back in the early days of Penninsula being a TVR main dealer i was down in that neck of the woods and popped in to say hi, and scrounge a coffee. during conversation i mentioned i'd not driven a T350. one of the guys wandered off and came back a few mins later and gave me the keys to their demo car idling outside, and said bring it back in an hour...
now thats what i call a good service...

they were incredibly generous with test drives, I drove down there from Bournemouth in my Chimaera for a test drive in Cerby, got there and Richard said take it for the w/e, take it back to Bournemouth then drive back to us on Monday I did, hated the car (SP6) but they are one of my finest experiences of TVR which is why I bought two cars off them.now thats what i call a good service...
