I've driven a 30hp Beetle with non synchro gearbox and cable brakes from Wieden in Germany (near Czech border) back to the UK. And even I'm thinking you'd be mad to drive a 500 back from Italy

It's cheap especially if it's as nice as it looks, but a manual diesel would be the desirable option.
