'Milner style' would have the cut-down grill, so you couldn't fit a bonnet/hood either
True, unless you cut the bonnet down too to fit I can see no reason to go for a late model motor, when there are more 350 Chevys in the USA than there are cars in the UK. If you get the correct year 350 you don't need to go through emissions/cat with the IVA test. A reliable and regular 350 horses is easy peasy.
IRS. No big deal, as they don't look bad, same with IFS, it won't look traditional, but you can still get the basic 'look' of the graffiti coupe. 999 out of 1000 people who see the car on the road won't know what the axle is 'supposed' to be anyway.

Does my Chevy truck class as a hot rod/rat rod?
It has it's honest 64 year old patina, big V8, loud & socially unacceptable according to the older generation I've spoken to lol
Hot rod, not rat rod. It's far too clean for that. This is mine; used regularly. Won Best Rat Rod at Wheels Day 2011. It evolves every year, but unsure what to do next. Considered a chop, but I think the proportions are just right as it is. No fake patina at all, it's all genuine rust. It's 70 years old and looks twice that.It has it's honest 64 year old patina, big V8, loud & socially unacceptable according to the older generation I've spoken to lol

It won't take many UK salty winters before you're driving a lacework of holes and rust. I'd be tempted to get something on it before it is too late, even a regular coat of WD40.AdeTuono said:
then modern IFS...No more details other than that; I bought it from the guy who bought it from the builder. I'll call him when I find his number and see what parts of it were donated from
Looks like Ford Cortina Mk3/4/5 (or Hyundai Stellar) uprights and lower balljoint with custom made upper and lower wishbones.Mr2Mike said:

My suggestion would be to head to the infamous Ace Cafe. On a Wednesday, mid month they have a hot rod night. I'll post a few photos up later... The carpark fills up and there's plenty more cars on the street too.....with the occasional burn out!
Hot Rod night is on the FIRST Wednesday of the month. To be honest, it's not as good as it used to be, having gone downhill a bit since the Executioners stopped organising it a few years back.
It's still OK though on the season starting spring meet and season ending autumn meets
Check the Ace website for the date of the end of season autumn meet.
Yeah, if the weather's good, this will be busy. So if you like hot rods, and don't live to far away, could be worth a visit. I'm going!

Hot rod night - End of summer riot....was tonight. It was very busy, though not as many hot rods as I've seen before, though loads of Americana. A few snaps that I took.
Bit of hot-rod history in the background there (well, custom car...). Havoc looks exactly as it did 35 years ago.AdeTuono said:
