Do all cars look worse with black wheels?

Black wheels indeed do in my opinion tend to look crap as per 90% of the pictures posted in this thread.
My current car has black wheels and I don't like them. I guess the car looks a bit stealthy but I would much rather be able to see the wheel design properly, so a refurb to standard silver is on the cards.
I can see the practical point of matt black - you won't notice them getting dirty and dusty, and gloss black wheels soon look matt black when they're dirty - but it is at the expense of aesthetics.
ETA - I agree with MGJohn's comments above!

A refurb in anthracite i think would look spot on.
The new GT3 in white with anthracite wheels is stunning.

So can we agree that "unlike most other cars, thiscar looks better with black wheels because:
a) Racecar
b) Looks like racecar
c) Post apocalyptic police car
That's not a very long list!
I can make it shortera) Racecar
b) Looks like racecar
c) Post apocalyptic police car
That's not a very long list!
a) Racecar
c) Post apocalyptic police car
And, in fact, as Mad Max was actually a work of fiction the list should really be;
a) Racecar
.....and even them I'm not convinced.

I like mine on black wheels ( but I would...)
I do think getting a decent shot of them is a lot of the issue when viewing internet pics.
That looks awesome. I don't think it would look so good on silver rims because you'd lost the contrast with the paint finish. I agree with you about the photo thing too. Bottom line is, when it comes to aesthetics, it's all subjective anyway. I do think getting a decent shot of them is a lot of the issue when viewing internet pics.
ETA - Any more pics / details on your car?

As far as I can see the majority of cars that really look good with black wheels (the ones people have commented on most too) are the black cars:
A lot of others shown with brighter colours seem to massively divide opinion. I think some look alright, others really don't work for me.
Although it isn't only black cars that can pull it off as proven by this which looks utterly amazing and is my new favourite thing:

I haven't seen one pic on this thread that would convince me that black wheels look better than silver.
Get back to me when tyre manufacture's stop using black rubber.
Black wheels only look really right AFAIC, when surrounded by polished alloy split rim's - as do any other colour wheels IMHO.
Take ANY black wheeled car pic on this thread and JUST imagine it with polished , REAL split rims...

For balance, I hate split rims polished or otherwise.Get back to me when tyre manufacture's stop using black rubber.

To answer the thread, some cars are improved with black wheels such as the yellow AM and SL above, GT3RS etc. but it doesn't always work when there is no contrast to the body colour.
