The diesels have the well famed London Taxi loved 2.7d.

Not sure of the source of the petrol unit?

I DO know they let water in though!

Nice.
+1

Funnily enough this morning I was reading the latest issue of CAR Magazine and this very model gets a mention and a PIC on the very last page.

I had the exact car in bright yellow. Great car when I was 21 and perfect tool for hooning about the country lanes as well. Basic mechanics, no electrics to go wrong, this should in theory never go wrong and perfect bangernomics.

What's wrong with it? Never understood why people sell cars with very little / no MOT unless they're completely donald ducked.

I'm sorry but some cars are just to ugly to consider owning - that is one of them
Hey - "Best of" thread, not "Prettiest of" biggrin
This could be the best of the Terrano and probably a little more reliable than a Rangey over the same price (perhaps!)

Nothing AFAIK, other than a big chip in one of the alloy wheels (not affecting tyre pressure and tyre is undamaged).

Colleague's partner bought a new car at the weekend and this will get P/X'd as part of the deal when they collect next weekend...I said I'd see if it could go to a 'good home' and in the meantime get them an extra £100 for it.

The scratches won't polish out of paintwork by the sounds of it.

If it had a longer MOT I'd consider it because the Felicia is becoming a pain in the tits but I'm sure there will be someone looking for a diesel workhorse at that kind of money.

At that money, if it drove ok, sounded ok and looked ok after basic checks, it's got to be worth a purchase and chucking it through an MOT.

I bought my Alfa GTV for £400 without an MOT and a few minor issues. Once the battery terminal and sticking locks were sorted (relatively easily) it passed an MOT without a single advisory and then I got £2900 (minus excess) from the insurance a few weeks later when a supersonic pizza delivery driver destroyed the front corner!

If it is shagged at MOT time, break or scrap it. Not much money lost. Worth the risk if local.

Apologies is this has already been posted, but this seems a bargain (high mileage, though).

Looks tidy and LPG'ed, so cheap fueling costs.

Absolute bargain! E34s just don't really die... the M50 is pretty much bulletproof and sounds awesome, LPG will definitely take the edge off the usual 20-25mpg from that lump... good shout!

I'm quite tempted by something lpg'ed. My only concern is talk of there being different connectors. I presume in the UK we have 1 standard connector?

correct- there is one "standard" UK fitting, and a couple in Europe.

you can buy adapters easily, and I had no issue using one on my 328 for 24k miles:-)

Go for it. The only negatives I found were that it takes a while to fill the tank compared with petrol/diesel, and that it also smells a bit 'farty' when you remove the filler.

That does look lovely. I must resist though! I need to concentrate on my Fiat for now.

Anyone want a '96 BMW 316 Compact?
Tax march, MOT June has done me for the last 5K miles without fault, Just a bit rough around the edges and has a daft exhaust rolleyes.

That Mazda is probably all the car you'd ever need, if not want.

I am very keen on that. Rare spec but anonymous and capable car.

My wife has a 2.3 Sport it's a great car - BUT the mpg is rubbish - 28 with her driving low 20s with me driving.

Adding a 4wd and an Auto and it will be both slow and sub 20mpg
