Damn these people accelerating. You should NOT accelerate on the roads, it's simply not safe. Unless you're already going at a speed it's incredibly dangerous to try to reach that speed so just don't bother - think of the children!
I know what you mean, those crazy people going round corners... are they insane laugh

I will probably get a bit of flack for this so please dont get me wrong but how can they ban these adverts with a bit of harmless driving when the run for life advert involves some threating attitudes and more importantly an x ray of a swearing gesture. Now i whole heartedly agree withe the race for life cause but a) how can an advert that invokves swearing get past the asa and b) why does no one conveniently complain about that. Please dont get me wrong about this im not complaining about the advert but the seeming double standards of the asa.

Jesus, Ling valentine comes across as a spoilt whiny basement dweller in her Ada complaint, does she not understand that whether its a joke or not if it breaks the rules then they have to adjudicate on it, it strikes me that she wants to play by her own rules.

The original adverts of hers I couldn't have cared less about but the way she behaved shows her true colours IMHO, well that and the way she has some sort of almost stalker like fascination with PH after being banned from crapflooding the forum with adverts.

Is this not just excellent viral advertising? Deliberately flout the rules and get heaps of attention on sites just as these...

"Our car is so fast and drift-worthy and exciting the adverts been banned!!"

They must know what will be allowed and what won't be before it gets out.

Who here has seen "The Human Centepede"?

Exactly. If it's banned/ offensive it intrigues people, even if it's utter crap. To me though, it's a boring Vauxhall whether moving or not i'm afraid.

o your gripe is with the ASA, not really people asking them to enforce their rules?
Well if a Rule/Law is unjust or immoral then we should break it.

Its mad to think there was even a meeting among grown adults to discuss that advert, let alone ban it. This country has become so pathetic.

I think the new BMW 4 series advert will be next.

How dare they show a car standing still with flashing lights and wind. Think of the children!!

Excellent - thanks! What a waste of resources at the ASA.

We need a giant whoosh parrot for all of you.

Marketing rule 1 is to create publicity.
The VXR ad in question has been around for ages and was coming to the end of its run. What better way then to get it back in the headlines and get some extra 'free' mileage out of the campaign?

I'd be very surprised if the complainant was anyone other than the Vauxhall marketing department.

Shhh... You're interrupting the old people complaining about "this country going to hell in a handcart".
