Not for me... For some reason my Youtube account won't let me because it's linked to my Google+ Account. Only way would be for me to purge my account and start a new one and f**k that!

Shame because I would happily pay, but I'm not spending hours trying to figure out how to legally get content I can torrent for free. Youtube/Google making it hard to get subscribable content... what a balls up.

Somewhat similar situation here. Would subscribe, but can't because not available here. Esprit's problem also does not seem to be that rare. YT does not seem like the best possible platform for this sort of venture IMO.

Regarding the poll: could you add an option? Would pay but can't (because YT sux).

I won't be paying. CH I find the first part of his sentences to be interesting then his tone changes and I switch off. Yes they are well polished videos but for nothing I can get good videos that give me the same answer (that I can't afford the cars they review)

I don't get it. I understand why Mclaren or Ferrari lend Chris their latest supercar if it means 2million plus views on you tube. If Drive want to charge, that probably takes their audience down to lets say 10,000 people, so what exactly do car manufacturers get out of such a small audience.

I can only see the numbers shrinking therefore all chris will get to spank around a circuit is the latest Dacia and quite frankly who wants to watch that.

Why does the channel have to be on you tube? why not have your own site taking all the advertising revenue?
Because the people who will pay for a video are automatically high quality sales leads. A bunch of freeloading teenagers are not.

Absolutely not. I'm tighter than two coats of paint but I will watch it for free, when it gets posted to other parts of the internet.
This amazes me. What is your time worth? I cannot imagine taking the time to search and torrent 4+ videos a month in order to save four bucks. Take into account the hassle of the bogus torrents and the waiting for videos to show up for free, and it's just ridiculous.

No.

Drive's content is good and I enjoy it, but it isn't great, certainly not pay for it great.

Its the small things like the slightly grainy cameras used on some videos, wobbly cameras where there shouldn't be wobbly cameras and the general production quality isn't all that good, and I'm the type of guy who doesn't usually notice this sort of thing.

The quality and content just aren't there for me.

And that's not to say that I'm fundamentally against subscriptions fees. If it was the motortrend channel asking for money, I'd pay it. I'd pay £2.50 a month for roadkill alone!

I'm still undecided, whilst it's only a couple of quid a month, I want to wait a month or so to see what I would get if I were to subscribe. If it's only 1 CH vid, and 1 Farah vid a month then I won't especially if they're 15 minutes each. If they're longer, 30-40 minutes then I would, but I'm not paying if I only get half hours worth of quality video a month, that's poor VFM.

Not really. This is a poll and I did say to keep the discussion in the first one.

Really enjoy Harris' vids, and even some of the Big Muscle/Tuned stuff occasionally. But not going to subscribe. Mainly because since Drive has been off the air, I haven't missed it.

They're an interesting distraction and the McLaren P1 article and the historic racing ones were awesome. But in all honesty, I'd be more likely to buy an annual DVD/BluRay with Harris' stuff on it than subscribe to a YouTube channel.

Some of the tightest people I know are also the most wealthy. Maybe that's how they get that way... Thing is, if they fancy one, they'll go try one. They don't really require a video.

Great content but sadly for 15 mins of video I will not be paying/watching.

To be honest have already started watching the YouTube XCAR video as a replacement. Production values are amazing just shame about the really annoying posh presenter!

No you're not ;-)

Anyway I believe the BBC produce a few other shows as well, I may be in a minority but the Licence fee is worth every penny.
I don’t even think the wink is required there. I’ve paid for the Drive+ channel but get Top gear for free. I would pay for BBC content if they asked me too but don’t see the point in paying for the inconvenience of live broadcast when they give the same content away for free on the I Player.

As good as the videos are, they have no USP; for me they simply don't stand out from a lot of the other stuff out there.

Chris is very good at what he does and obviously has a genuine passion for cars which is a factor, but ultimately, why would I want to pay for something I can get for free elsewhere? I wouldn't...and won't.

In road terms, it's the M6 toll road at midnight.....

Why? Why do people assume that CH is the bee's knee's? I haven't managed to get through ANY of his videos without getting bored.

From the general response his videos, blogs, whatever, you would generally think that is the case.
