Yep, reserved for SEs - was an upgrade, but a very expensive one, so rocking horse on S models I'd guess.

Thanks again guys. I will likely fit something like a grom or xcarlink anyway.

It's a shame the s60 D5 s didn't come with a decent stero
The S stereo is perfectly decent, just not as good as the one in the SE.

I've found an s80 with 107k, se lux apparently with nav, front and rear pdc etc for £1800. Seems a bit cheap? On a 55 plate too.

Is the stereo pretty much the main difference?

I've seen an s60 s localish with heated leathers and low miles for £1295(!). Doesn't have nav etc obviously but Im not so fussed about that.

IIRC SE gains:

Full leather
Electric seat with memory
Autodip mirror
9-speaker surround 4 or 6 CD audio v 8 speaker single slot
17" alloys
Fog lights

Some early S models didn't have a trip computer either.

The satnav is rubbish and usually doesn't work so I wouldn't bother looking for one with it specifically.

Thanks again for that.

That s60 sold yesterday and the s80 guy isn't answering his phone, so looks like a bust on those counts.

Disagree about nav, mine is a 54 and nav works well

Not really, not as desirable as the S60s of the same age to most people, so values lower.

I reckon it's probably sold anyway. Not got time to look at anything else today as all too far away so I'll have to look in a few weeks when I'm not working

So the S80 is still available. I've been told if I want it I can have it but I cannot view it for two weeks. He is prepared to take it off the market for me if I say I want it on the proviso I do indeed buy it.

I tend not to buy cars unseen though the chap does sound very honest and I am sure the car will be as described. Aside from the gearbox, and buying a pup (audi 1.8t anyone? hehe) what are the chances of anything borktastic being wrong with it? I aren't going to get Chance to look at it or anything else for two weeks anyway now and there is a chance it will sell in the meantime.

Too risky?

As it's got a full main dealer service history I'd call a dealer tomorrow to find out a little more about it.

It's not main dealer. He was keen to make that clear to me. Cam belt was recently changed, new tyres and brakes as well.

Ah, assumed that it was the AT one, which reads that way.

No, this is elsewhere. Its cheap enough for me to take a punt on I think. Its an older Chap who owns it who has just bought a jag for retirement. He was quick to point out its marks it has had over its life time.

The car is hpi clear. Previous mot's state advisories for damaged rear floor pans, but the latest one doesn't have it showing.

Not for me to advise, but I bought mine sight unseen from a dealer after having had a number of conversations. If it feels right then it probably is, but your call, of course.

I have bought unseen once before and it bit me on the arse hehe

But I do not feel like the seller is holding anything back, and when I ask questions about the car he appears to be forthright. The floor pan advisories went away on the most recent MOT as he had the work done, and is going to find out. He is also happy for me to have an RAC inspection done (feels like a waste of money to me I suppose).

I am swaying towards saying I will have it. Its the SE Lux model on a 55 plate, at £1800 what is the worst that can happen? hehe

Best we treat that as a rhetorical question!
