Love machine does have a point. From the environmental viewpoint the best car to build is no car at all and just keep the old ones running. Although I would argue that it would be even better to convert them all to electric once the technology is good enough. Back in the real world, however, real people who can afford them, unlike me, want new cars and will continue to buy them. It must be better if some of those new cars are electric. Solar energy is coming on in leaps and bounds at the moment and it won't be long before it will be a realistic option to fit panels to your roof and power your car with a cheap overnight charge, replacing the energy back in the grid with your solar panels the following day. In sunnier climes this is already a realistic option. It's no coincidence that the Tesla comes from California and Elon Musk, the main investor, also has interests in a solar energy company. Like Love machine I had three old Minis when I was young but I must confess I wouldn't want to put my kids in one today. Do they crash any better than a Reva G-Wiz? I doubt it. Move on Love machine....the world is changing.
