And list price for a Civic Type-R in Japan is ~ £11k I believe. The Japanese simply refusr to pay a lot for cars. It will be $USD figure in sterling, so £80K ish
Crumbs. That's going to have a tough fight against the R8 and 911 C2S then!

£65-£70k seems to be the numbers being banded about. Have the import companies had any orders yet???

It looks bloody good!

Why couldn't they make the front exactly like the Proto? It really does look so much better! frown

Despite some of the negatives above at anywhere remotely close to £40K you'd have to give it a try at the very least for that sort of performance.
No doubt it will end up nearer £60 G's tho'

You see, I think the front looks like it has melted (instead of the aggressive look of the proto) and the line of the rear quarter window looks cock. The 'angle' in the middle should have been a flowing arc in line with the roof..would have looked sooooo much sleeker and flowing. frown

Nope - not going to happen. Not paying £60k+ for a Nissan. Nope. Same as I would not pay best part of £100k for an Audi.

That's ridiculous, at $2/£ anyone could import one and pay all the taxes and still come in way under that. I reckon £50K-£60K, which IMHO is a bargain looking at the performance stats...

I like the car, it looks very close to the original concept design apart from the front end, which is a shame.

If the 1/4 mile time is to be believed then I cant see it being much more than 1500-1600kg region... the time in the article is only 0.1 off the Mclaren F1 time.
The awesome acceleration stats are due to in no small part to 4WD and DSG. The DSG probably takes 0.2 to 0.3 off the 0.60, and 4WD a small margin too.

I love the look of it. I can't wait to see one in the flesh though.

Is it me, or is anybody else pleased to see that under the bonnet is has a 'proper' looking engine, instead of a nasty black plastic cover?

Just realised it's a V6. I feel a bit dissapointed about that, there was something special about that straigt 6 noise.

Cheers,

FT.

Not that I will be buying one, but who would be able to service it? My local Nissan dealership's service manager thought the 200SX wasn't a Nissan.

Well if it's any good I'd probably take one over a 911. I wouldn't actually buy either (or indeed anything else) new though so I guess my opinion isn't particularly important smile

There's no iron block, so no huge tuning potential like the real skylines.

Everyone knows that Jap concept cars always end up specced with cheap grey plastic at the last second. Just look at the Evo concept v reality check.

However I'm looking forward to seeing the real ones take a dip when the fashionista's move on.

That's to make it softer for drunk pedestrians. You know the whole Euro-NCrAP thing.

I'd certainly take one of them over my Skyline R31!!!
I'm sure Nissan will have allowed for the tuning scene. The RB26 was nicknamed Godzilla on account of it's strength so surely they will expect this one to be tuned to within an inch of it's life as well. Roll on ten of the best 2008
