It's a good gag, but it doesn't make it true hehe

I always wanted the VW Corrodo to rust really badly but it didn't which buggered that joke name grumpywink

just reading german autobild yesterday while waiting to get tyres changed, they were referring to this as a Rekord/Omega replacement, rather than Ascona/Vectra

Try to keep your eyes open while you look at these photos of the new Insignia:

Snore.

Could it be any more bland if it tried? Could very easily be the new Toyota Avensis...
The back reminds me of thr new Passat CC

And before anybody starts, yes it is a 5dr Coupe

I've changed my mind, no really...saw the article by Ken Gibson lying on a table in our 'Bistro' and it looks smooth and muscular on the outside and seriously nice inside.....so long as the GM motor is still good and the handling improved, I think Mondeo is in for a kicking

It's going to have 4wd in its more powerful guises, and some rather nice V6 turboed engines.

I expect it will still be hated for its badge tho.

Personally if i was (forced) to buy a car in this sector, you have the choice of the Insignia, the Blandeo, The Passhat etc etc, all of which are dull as dishwater to look at, or....

The Mazda 6:

Skoda Octavia vRS blows them all away on looks, price, go, handling.

That new Vec, Inignia or whatever looks proper st.

I had the displeasure of driving the last Vectra CDTi 'Design' as a courtesy car last month. Badly made, handled like a jelly, and returned really poor mpg figures (The skoda's still hit over 40mpg when being caned on the nightshift).

I get 60mpg out of mine doing regular motorway work, it is absolutely pants inside but in SRi form handles just fine.....I've driven the deign etc and they are very, very poor handling cars

Same with all recent vauxhall's. The design spec handles like crap and the SXi/SRi specs handle ok.

We have two astra's, Old shape SXi and new shape Design.

The old shape is far more enjoyable to drive than the Design New shape.

Indeed, anyway, the new one looks, in the Sun article at least, to be a damn fine looking car and a much better proposition to the lardy and over detailed Mondeo

When are they expecting to release this car?

Hopefully may get some good deals with the outgoing vectra coming soon.

Aye, the auto SRi 150 diesel estate I had for a week handled fine and returned me 40mpg cross country, which I didn't think was too bad considering.
