Reminds me of the time I went to buy a BMW M5. Was looking forward to over 500bhp and 0-60 in 5 seconds.

Was only when I got home I noticed it was actually a 518i from 1994. Still, it only cost me £1000.
This is like when i bought my prius coupe

I won't waste time much more time on this mouth breather then!
PD engines are in quite a few cars and just like many modern engines it will be reliable if correctly maintained.
If your car is a 1.9 it's maximum output unless mapped would be 150bhp not 170bhp as you claim, for this output your car would need to have the later 2.0 engine.

That's great! I hope you drive round with a smug look on your face which says "yeah, i'm saving the planet".

If only you'd bought a £2k car and spent £3k modding it you could maybe have dropped in a common rail lump.

Three questions.

Are you happy with the car?

Do people really buy cars based on power output and not find out what is actualy under the bonnet or how the car drives?

Who the fk is asif?

You won't get the claimed mpg - period.

Especially if you are wheel spinning in 2nd gear, that would indicate it's not being driven gently.

Also if it's the onboard computer it's needs calculated manually to give you a true figure.

You seem very confused

I have 108,000 miles on my PD 170 Leon, why worry about the car when the driver seems to be 2 nuts short of a gasket?

You are doing the best job I've ever seen of demonstrating everything that is wrong with this country. You've bought a car based on wanting it to be economical and then promptly drive it hard, whcih by definition means you won't get anywhere near the economy figures in the brochure.

Now you're worried that the engine isn't reliable (note the lower case "a"). Why would it not be reliable? Do you intend to service it correctly?

More importantly, as asked numerous times before, who is Asif?
