Made me laugh when I found out that you could not enter a proper 2 seat sprotscar in the 6 hours race (not that I had any intension of wanting to drive / shag the car for 6 hours). Crazy!! And they wonder why the grids for this have been pants!

Not pants at all if you ask me:

Raspy boxer four Sprint Sud.

Only 900-something kgs so this thing goes.

1/15 secs fun.

Peter Malletts Capri:

Passing the 1.5 Sud Sprint.

Hi there.

Braking hard, or trying. Brakes were an issue during the six hours race.

More Capri.

Glad you found it amusing Jon,as Sports Cars have more than their fair share of a crack at Enduros,we decided from the outset that they would not be one of the 'target cars'.We doubled up last years event and it certainly looks as though 2012 will be even bigger and better [if thats possible].There is a three year span covering this event, lets wait and see what next year bringshttp://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/4.gif

Did you stay on for Sundays MSVr GT event? You would have laughed even more with only nine cars entered .

Hi Terry, what I am getting at is yes there are lots of enduros that Sportscars can do, but most of these (all maybe under the Master which the 360 people run), most of the cars at Snett were the types of more modified cars Sports and Saloon that would not be at these predominately fia regulated events (I'll take non-fia ever time thanks), that is my point let non-fia Sports and Saloons in. Having said that - not sure what the exact criteria was, as to me an Aston Vantage and Porker 924 are just as much a sportscar as an MGB / TR, MX5, etc.

Thanks for replying Jon, the main criteria has always been GT and Saloons. The idea being that most cars from the period we have set do not have much chance at being on circuit for more than an hour or two. Lots of people have said how wonderful it would be if their respective cars were allowed into the Spa 6Hr,so we thought it would be great to give these people a chance at not only a much lower entry fee [3,000 Euro for Spa]but also a properly run and organised enduro for these cars. I think the mix of cars is right as it is but if we allowed Sports Cars in,that would detract from what we originally wanted for the entrant's,a reasonably competitive grid.

Terry you are right of course. One of the 360s main attractions is peeps can pick up a car and prepare it and end top 3, just as the Climax 325er did. Amazing job and a I bet a few scratched their chin and asked themselves: "I'd like to have a go and ask me pack of friends to throw in a Jap or Dzjerman kit and have some 360 fun in 2012!".

I know we did . . .

Aston thunder:

AM specialist Rikki Cann showed up with a glorious looking and sounding V8.

Oopsy-moment in the first hour of the race. A bend called Palmer . . .

Road presence.

Favourite snapping bend: scary tree corner.

My kind of muscle. I bet this X-pack has well over 450 under da hood.

Let's pick Madge.

Near standard 325 Beemer did very well and was up on par with the big ones.

Handling - especially in the corners - was superb. Tempting to find, buy and built one with a team of mates.

A 2:22 best lap. Rover was only a sec down on that so battle was fierce!

Climax team came in 3rd: very well organised and prepared.

Glorious 80s 200 brake 2 litre turbo:

Team Mullett did not ran without problems.

Shame, because 't's a delight to see such a rare car on track.

I remember they did fairly well in rallies.

Next: the mad Escort.

Euphoria Escort down Scary tree corner.

Mad Escort with 450 brake AJP8 Tuscan engine in.

Which makes sense as the MK1 Escort has enough room up front and the Pinto is even heavier!

Top Gear producers car.

BTW: Clarkson runs an Escort as well:
