I have never owned a house with a gravel drive. Do you have to rake it all the time?
Not at all. It's very low maintenance, just chuck some weed killer on occasionally.

Horrid if you want to work on the underside of a car though.
Ive always found it better because you haven't got to worry about oil drips and the like. Plus on low cars like my classic mini, i can dig down to get the trolley jack under the jacking point.

Just over ten minutes to go on the auction for my 300TE-24 I've got a feeling it's going to get messed around with...
Well it ended at £3k on the nose. To my mind, for that spec and maintanence it was a good deal for someone.
Oops smile

Hello?!

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/332155322640?rmvSB=true&am...
I wasn't really looking for one but the combination of 24v and brown leather was enough for me to put in a cheeky bid and it ended up winning!!!

Bodywork looks like it needs some minor fettling in a few places - can anybody remind me who the bodywork guy is who was recommended on here?

Nice. Here's hoping you stopped for a photo opp before driving to your house on a council estate later. Not really hope that pile is yours. smile
It's a hotel. Staff were very understanding.

Looks like normal gravel to me.

A neighbour around the corner from me had a gravel drive. Nobody like them as there wad gravel all over the road. Pain in the arse.

I've never had a problem with gravel escaping down the lane. If anything it escapes into the ground and needs restocking and weeding.

As for skateboarders and rollerskaters, I suspect they belong on the Council thread.

This: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132133826500?_trksid=p20...

Is not worth an hour of my time, is it? I mean, sure, it's a w140 with a V8, JRG and velours upholstery. But it has 210,000miles, has been moderfied with a racing exhaust, sounds like a Farari, and I will not be disapointed. It may be five miles away but it ought to be on a different planet. Right? right?

Oh, and I didn't mention this:

Brilliant isn't it, an air filter that soaks up the lovely warm air from the engine...

Purchased a new barge this week; 2005 BMW 750i sport (e65). Silver with black and around 85k on it. Looks to have some nice options such as soft close and adaptive headlights along with the attractive 20" wheels (need a refurb).

Not seen it or driven it yet, bought blind as is the Thread way. Car is in Norwich and i'm in Bournemouth and too busy with work / family to take a day out to collect so I will probably get it delivered to me once it has been serviced and MOT'd.

Over thread budget but still within the ethos I think. Will post some pics once I have it in my possession.
Congratulations. Should you decide to collect we could always have a V12 meet somewhere en route

Isn't the E65 750i a V8 not V12?

Whoa there Leslie, let's take a step back here and review what you've done.

You've bought a 750i blind, it has no MOT(!), and rather than inspect it and pay the cash you are actually just going to pay a bank transfer online and are having it delivered as a fait accomplit?

Will you marry me?

As others have said is a 4.8 v8 (365bhp I think).

Yes, bought blind, MOT is until April at some point but new one (and service) being done as part of the deal. I sent the money by bank transfer from my phone at 9.30pm when I was in bed.

Delivery looking most likely as I am maxed at work - quotes out on Shiply at the moment. I think when I had an A8 delivered from Norwich to Bournemouth that was £250 so hopefully it will be similar (or less!) this time.

Have bought two cars from the seller before and trust his description of the car.
