The wheels are far too inboard from the wings, and they ride too high
I think you need to remember when it was designed. Please take into account what Mr & Mrs Average were tootalling up & down in, in the early 60's!
I can, from the profile picture quite clearly see the D Type in there, designed or at least helped by, correct me if i am wrong, Aircraft engineers? In front of its time I would say!

I'm sure that GM consciously went for that link. I believe it is fair to say that he and McLaren may have slightly different recollections of various elements of the F1's history, so it would not be surprising if he were seeking to tweak them a bit.
Thanks for your thoughts I find that often, IMO, it's the little odd, unpredictable things that don't follow a pattern, that actually makes the history of something far more interesting.HereBeMonsters said:

Surely one of the geekiest games in the history of dorkdom, Type Trumps is a brilliant gift for anyone with even a passing interest in typography. And just in case you’re wondering, yes, this is Tahoma.
Yes, that does sound like my sort of thing. RenesisEvo said:

We had to cater for all sorts of strange cutomer requests such as structurally modifiying the chassis to fit houses for lucky buddist crystal elephants. Sort of like a spirtual rollcage when karma decides to turn on the driver at the exit of a high speed corner.
That particular car may have been a pain in the neck to make, but it was specified by a very decent guy and true petrolhead, so perhaps he deserves to be cut some slack, eh? I heard that George Harrison was the one who had a thing for elephants. McLaren also apparently made a video to document the build of his car and capture some of those unique details hidden within.
marine boy - since Gordon let the cat out of the bag on the McLaren PGTB in his recent EVO magazine article is there anything you recall specifically about that car?
Surely that project must have been big news around the workshop.
