The point of youth subculture fashions is to define "us" and "them" - if the fashion isn't stupid enough to make "them" hate it, it needs to be more stupid. This is a canonical example. I think it looks stupid, but then I'm 40, I'm meant to.
I'm 42, I love it!Z06George said:
Can someone explain to me how the black Camaro on page 20 is "stanced" please? This is a genuine question, to me it just looks like someone has modded it for track use.
It has 'stance', that's all that matters, how it is achieved is irrelevant. Take a look at a Broadspeed XJ12 and you'll know what I mean. Z06George said:

It's not. This is a "Pictures of stanced cars or lowered, slightly lowered or even cars with non standard wheels" thread.bobbo89 said:

Each to their own really. My only issue with the whole scene is the safety aspect.
I'm from the original Barry Boy era. We pumped 1,000s into our Escorts and Novas etc. But some, some did it on the cheap and the cars weren't good. With the mods being shown here if its done cheaply I cannot see it being safe.
I can see some have been done very well and obviously are very cared for cars, but I'll bet there are a lot who are bodged and they concern me if they share the roads I use.
On a personal level I can understand individualising cars especially when young but taking a car that handles really well and making it handle not as well. That confuses me.
But just be safe with it is the main thing.

However, I would suggest that stancers do not appreciate drivers cars either or less so, in fact less so as they take them and destroy their capabilities. Why buy a 'drivers car', be it an MX5, Clio Cup, E30 or NSX and then ruin it for aesthetic purposes?
Seems counter intuitive and destructive IMHO.
'drivers' cars usually look a lot better than a boggo car in the first place, as you've said, its all about aesthetics. Seems counter intuitive and destructive IMHO.
