Cars in colours you don't see often
Discussion
I do love a wacky coloured car & I have a bit of history... at least you can find your car in a car park easy enough
My almost daily driver in this Citrus Yellow
My old Lupo 3L was in this colour it was called Kermit
Seat did some bright yellows we had one of each!
And I had a Series II Landy in French Blue which was rather lovely, no pics to hand.
And one of these of course
Nearly forgot I have this in the garage, this very model the Original Landcruiser 80 Series Launch Model & one the very early ones too. Previously owned an even earlier one from the first week of production too. Bit of a Marmite colour scheme.
Just noticed there is a bit of a theme going here, had not really noticed the car history was "quite" so colourful until now

The original car colour is 803 Riedgrun (Moss Green)
The other two you posted are probably 881 Silberdistel (Thistle Green Metallic)
IMO
I remember them looking quite a bit darker in other shots, but it was a while agoThe other two you posted are probably 881 Silberdistel (Thistle Green Metallic)

You’re probably right, I don’t know much about Mercedes anyway

No idea what colour it is, I’m colour blind

Loving the green Porsches. That BMW is very nice too.
If you like a green Porsche, look out for a 928 in Amazon Green - pictures never do it justice, it really is a fabulous colour.Anyway, two spotted this morning were a 6-series Gran Coupe (?) in bright metallic green and an AMG E63 in bright red. Chapeau to both owners, both looked ace.
Ooh I like this thread. That M3 in oxford green with caramel leather is just stunning.
I had an Alpina in Velvet Blue, another individual colour, a really deep blue with a touch of purple. Not got a good pic unfortunately.
There used to be an M3 around here in the same colour, and with the flared arches it looked very very nice, similar to this
Current Merc is designo mystic red - as far as I'm aware it's the only CLS in the country in this colour. I did spot an S class for sale recently in what looked like the same colour. Extra cost option over normal metallic as it's got more mica flake in it.
Favourite colour on any car [clarkson] in the wuuurld [/clarkson] has to be TVR Rolex Blue. Just stunning. Originally custom matched to a customer's Rolex watch face I believe, hence the name.

Look at this picture from 1985 - a cross section of family cars and hatchbacks from an average German town. The variety of colours is amazing - can you imagine someone in your office turning up in a brand new citrus yellow 5 series, a powder blue E class or a snot green Mondeo today?
I love the variation of colour in this photo. Residuals have put an end to this though, a work colleague wanted to order a blue C Class Coupe with red leather as a company car through our scheme but the lease company wouldn't allow him to as it affected residuals too much. He had to choose blue on black instead, they wouldn't even let him have the cream leather. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
