The classic of speeding up when being overtaken. Why do people care? At best it's stupid, worst downright dangerous.

A chap the other day was interesting to watch. He was in a dark grey Citroen C5 and overtook me in a 30 zone and slammed on the brakes to try and make me hit the back of his car. He then sped off and I kept a safe distance. He drove onto a dual carriage way cutting up a Jag as he left the slip road and braked hard again. I was going in the same direction so I watched as he did the same thing at least half a dozen times along the A47. Practically every car he overtook he did the whiplash trick. When he passed HGV's though he did it safely so he was obviously not willing to get hit by a truck. scratchchin

As I was reporting it to the Cambridgeshire Police I crossed the boarder to Norfolk and they said it wasn't they're problem. rolleyes

This overtake-brake driver was driving like that from Breton all the way to Wisbech. The one time in ages I didn't have my camera in the car I could have caught a fraudster. Typical. frown
I'm not a big guy (blah blah to prove i'm not spouting bcensoredks) but this stuff really angers me. If said person had tried that on me I would probably try my best at making sure he never drove again. I can not stand people who think it's acceptable to do that. The potential consequences far outweigh the compensation pay out they would get.

Props to you for doing the right thing. thumbup

having just spent 2 hours on the M5 northbound from Exeter, this single thing that makes me think "knob" is the fleet of caravan draggers who seem to forget about the st they are towing behind them and push on at 70 mph simply because the big powerful torquey diesel tow car is capable of pulling it at that speed. may you all your chemical toilets leak...

I think some of it is when people realise they have slowed to a crawl, and decide to pick up the pace again.

The cycling family the other day; was on a 40 road when a family with a girl who looked about 7 crossed in front of me, the mum told them to cross and caused me to brake hard, I gave a small bip of the horn and a WTF hand signal (nothing offensive), nothing aggressive and the mum shouted "fk you" at me. What you've taught your child is to cross the road in front of cars and to swear at them.

I normally wouldn't have honked but there was no cars behind me and a crossing not far up the road!

In my case it was circa 45 in a NSL and then the same speed up my arse apun a 30 zone village. Totally pathetic. Even if they think blimey, I'm going a bit slow, you don't put your foot down when someone else is overtaking.

If the instructors can't get this right ,what hope is there for new drivers ?rolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyes
The driving instructor across the road from me parks over my drive every week without fail. My car is on the drive and thus blocked in. Seemingly he can't teach his pupil how to park correctly.

They are breeding a whole generation of inconsiderate parkers and poor drivers.

driving instructors teach their students to pass the test, not to drive properly. you can not quantify good driving but you can quantify pass rates thus the instructor who can plaster hisc ar with claims of the highest pass rates is obviously the best instructor.... still, £25 per hour for sitting down and doing cock all is a nice little earner...

Anyone still too ignorant/stupid/down right lazy, to not have use of a hands free kit for their phones while in the car!

I don’t even remember when the last phone I bought didn’t come with a hands free kit!

I’ve managed to have a new Bluetooth headset thrown in with every new phone I’ve had, usually with little or no persuasion to the sales guy, and it’s not as if they’re still £100 items anymore. You can pick them up for under a tenner, probably even a fiver in ASDA/TESCO!!

I have no sympathy for anyone still being pulled over and given the fine & points for this offence, there’s no more excuses than laziness/stupidity.

(this rant was sparked by nearly being forced off the road this morning by the dozy fat blonde on her mobile oblivious to the fact I was next to her. And my mates rant the other day for being done by the BiB for using his phone, while doing 90 down the M4, as I said to him to his disgust, if he hadn’t been on the phone he may have noticed the marked police car sat on his arse at 90!)

My phone came with this thing called voicemail that means I don't even need to answer the phone till I'm stopped. I've even been able to leave a message that says ''if I haven't picked up, I'm probably driving''. I realise I'm not important enough to have to speak on the phone constantly though and the novelty factor, of someone ringing me, wore off some time ago. As for bluetooth, I just have no desire to look like an extra from Star Trek or a Northern carpet salesman.

Hmm, I just got a 4S, not used the speaker phone in the car yet. Not likely to either, I hardly ever answer my phone when sat on my arse at home, let alone when driving.
