The BAD PARKING thread [vol3]

I managed to park the black van which is longer but same rules don't apply for white ones.
Plenty of room in there so I'd rather he parked where he did, instead of in the next space, so he could put a few marks on the passenger side as he attempted to climb in and out in the limited space he would of had. LordFlathead said:
Maybe he did it on purpose? Can't stand electric cars, waste of time!On a seperate note, where else do some people expect big cars/vans to park? Cars have, for the last 100 years, been getting bigger and bigger, councils, car parks, supermakets etc SHOULD be making sure their spaces are reasonable, not just for Mildred in her Smart car!!! My E46 coupe isn't a relatively massive car but I have to be selective where I park if I want to get out and I don't want some ahole ttting my car with their door!

I don't think they should build bigger spaces. Your E46 is fine and someone in a similarly sized car should have no problems getting in and out without touching your car if you've both parked properly. If they do, they should probably lose some weight and get some mobility training. Some bell parked his 4x4 in a stupid position in a pub car park a few weeks ago leaving me with the only parking space which meant that I had to park such that he had better be lean or he'll be cleaning my car with his nice clothes.
If he had (1) parked properly (2) not bought such a big car, he'd have been fine.

What pisses me off is cars who park about 5 ft from the end of the bay. If you scroll along the link to the right you will see what I mean. And those who leave about 4 ft behind the other car when they park.
Sometimes I'll arrive at a space vacated by a large SUV and park in it in Mrs V.'s tiny Mitsubishi. It now looks like I've parked stupidly. Do I park close to the car in front and leave a comedy space behind or vice versa?scorcher said:

In fairness I actually chose that spot to park because he was parked like that, he could have made the effort to park straighter tho. I have OCD and no matter what I need my bloody van parked straight EL11SEG said:

Know the feeling. I see people drive into a car park at the same time as me and jump out (not perfectly straight, of course) while I'm still straightening up. I'm not talking spending 30 minutes parking but I'll often do a re-entry to straighten up - mind you, having an oil tanker sized turning circle doesn't help.Took my mother to Tesco to get her some shopping.
Mum: "Just park in the disabled spaces."
Me: "But I haven't got a blue badge"
Mum: "Neither do I but it doesn't stop me"
Me: "Well it sure as hell stops me and it should do you too"
Mum: "They've never given me a ticket"
Me: "That's not the point"
To be fair, she is 75, not too solid on her feet and has a replacement knee (and had a blue badge before the knee op). But still terrible behaviour. I found a regular space, as close as any disabled space and parked in that.

problem is that quite a few of that ilk don't really care about damage to their/your car as they can afford repairs Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
