I downloaded the app and it's asking for a password before I can access the camera, I don't remember anything about a password when I installed it and the box and that has been thrown away!
If that's a Viofo WM1 then the default password is 12345678.

It would be good if you can get it working for your return journey!

I know an American couple who have become hotel owners. What is it that you do?
These guys own hotels all over the world.

It was fascinating. He just had jeans and a T shirt and was wobbling about on this old bike.
He doesn't always get directly involved at the hotel level but he was originally French and brought up in America so he wanted to get hands on with this one.
They bought it from a Suadi Prince who owns lots of 5 star hotels in France but only ever stays at the ones in the South, so he'd lost interest in this one.

His trick is that he stays at the hotel and wanders about chatting to people, so he gets to hear directly what people are praising or complaining about.

We stood in the car park and he would just say "See that? Well I'd rather it was this"
And I'm thinking "Oh fk yeah! That makes so much sense!". The guy knows his game inside out, it was really eye opening.

They base the value of the purchase on the cost divided by rooms, or as he put it "How much am I paying by key?"

He went in depth about staff and cuisine and all sorts, I learned more in that chat than I could have staying at a thousand hotels.
Loved it.

I'm in Waste Disposal.
And no, I've never seen the Sopranos!

Oh my man! Thank you! I will try that in the morning!
It's definitely a Viofo, not sure of the model number.

Great stuff.

Who gives a crap if you're told your card isn't working. It's not a big deal, it's certainly not worth getting bent out of shape over and it's also not something to give employees a hard time over...especially when you say you then had the same issue at the subsequent hotel.

I didn't say you're trying to impress - I just said those 2 incidents don't reflect well on you. If you don't care, then that's up to you. What you have described is pretty anti-social imho...and that anti-social behavior is encouraged by certain other people on these threads. I expressed my alternate opinion.

Alcohol fueled antics are a common trend through your trip threads - which is up to you, but is it necessary to square up to some guy because he didn't want to share a table with someone with minis in their rolled up shorts?

Just as reading isn't compulsory, I'm also allowed to express my opinion on an open forum. I'll continue to read as I enjoy the trip content and the onewheel has certainly added an interesting dynamic - it sounds like you're well on the way to being recovered from your pre-trip accident which I'm pleased for.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll tell me once more that you don't care - which is fine. I doubt we'll see eye-to-eye...I'm not a veggie wink

Did you pay for the five minute argument or the full half hour?

Well I'm not going to get into a dissection of the business models on here but Alistair has sold a 720S and a 650S for me previously and on both occasions I was very happy.
Agreed; Alastair is an absolute gentleman.

If someone is unhappy with what Alastair has said their car shall most likely achieve, in most cases they may have inflated views of what their car is worth.

All the best for the remainder of your trip and the sale. thumbup
Apols, I usually make a point of not commenting on something without first hand experience, suspect the 1am post may have had something to do with the change in that approach. Please consider it taken back smile

Awesome story with the new/future owners of the hotel, always great to have interactions like that one biggrin I remember having similar when stopping by Caffeine & Machine before they opened and chatting with the owners there.

Good luck getting the dashcam sorted for the return leg

If you can't even be bothered to read what's written you're wasting my time.

I didn't give any employees a hard time I had two very polite conversations with somebody from accounts and the duty manager explaining the problem. Hotels like this are known for entitled people shouting at the staff on the desk, I did the exact opposite.

The miniatures in the shorts was a joke picture in the hotel room, of course I didn't go down to the lobby like that. And again for the hard of reading the guy reared up on me for no reason and then jumped to his feet to intimidate me.

This is getting fking boring.

That's the "Drink on car " theme from previous trips. First one on this trip.
No doubt Moose man will be frantically bashing out "Waaaaa Alcohol & cars, iTs lIKe dRiNkInG aNd dRiVIng, REfleCts bADly". Big girls' blouse.

I love these adventure threads, and each time you post a new one I end up going back through and reading all the old ones. Always good for an emotional rollercoaster.

I'd never heard of or seen a onewheel until this thread, and then today someone went flying by me on one while I was walking along the canals. Unfortunately the canals in the West Midlands, not Venice.

Safe travels home

Safe trip back Brad, and thanks for the entertaining trip thread. Looking forward to next year’s instalment

I think you need to get someone to hide your telly and not let you use your kitchen table at home now to carry on that holiday vibe! smile

I don’t think there is one - this is a tiny section of a chain near Blois we visited in 2019. Knocks Greggs into a cocked hat and much cleaner too!
That all looks lovely, but I bet it's a little more expensive than Greggs, and even more so than Pound Bakery.

Hungry now.

Hi Brad,

Now you're on the home leg I would like to say that whilst it may not have gone as you had planned (who wants that?) it has still been great to hear about your escapades. It isn't about the car but the journey - whatever mode of transport and however many times you fall off/get hospitalised/arrested.

I am looking forward to next year and seeing some potato cam shots of a vaguely red McLaren parked up at various classy hotels and you being slightly befuddled by various appliances.

Good health!
