Clean and shine the car? Check.

Drive to carpark for photos? Check.

Park across the bays, so car is attractively edged by grass and trees? Check.

Get the favourite, low-ish, macho angle? Check.

Wait 14 seconds for 2 randoms and their dogs to get out of shot? Nah, that's too much like effort....

A tough choice between this thread and the barge one for this car. I think on balance the appeal is the retroness of it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Opel-Senator-/1...

Only 51k miles. Lovely.

Much want. I briefly had one the same spec as that, but mine came with the optional blown head gasket.

I do love a Senator and that's as good a one as I've seen in a while.

Or indeed to rotate most of the photos so they are the right way up!

Much want for the Senator, on the other hand.

I parked next to that very car in cribbs causeway last week!
How very random! Was it in good condition in the metal?
It seemed alright, it was getting a bit dark. I will warn whoever buys it to leave rice filled socks in it though.... steamed up like anything!

It's probably an unhealthy obsession I have with generally crap cars, but I really like this: -

Also known as a Zaporozhets. Was a kind of a VW Beetle type peoples car in the Soviet bloc. Rear-engined and rear-wheel-drive, albeit around 30 kW.

How about this slice of Japan, looks like it could be had easily for less than the £1000 asking price as well.

I think it looks bloody awful, but I should be able to view that in person tomorrow afternoon if anyone wants it.

I am glad you cleared that for us smile....and as a driver who has that engine/box in one of my cars (original fitments) I can say they are good for 150+.
What did you have to do to the mounts ?
Sorry, I missed your comment there, the mounts weren't too hard as the gearbox mount is a straight fit (in both a 205 and 405), the top mount and lower mounts were from a previous conversion and had been made by a fabricator. There are billet alloy top mounts available (my 205 uses one) but the guy who makes them hasn't made any in a while.

I spoke to the guy who is selling it and unfortunately the winning bidder never made contact, so it is back up on ebay with better pictures and a much better description:

Was reading about this seller a few months ago, poster was calling him every name under the sun (and some in the shade). Who knows if the nasty words were unfounded or not.
