How about this slice of Japan, looks like it could be had easily for less than the £1000 asking price as well.

I think it looks bloody awful, but I should be able to view that in person tomorrow afternoon if anyone wants it.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-ES300-WINDOM-JUST-...
On an Audi 80 theme, how about this <PH stereotype (for the lady in your life, natch). >PH stereotype.
Rather fetching I think.

I always wanted to find one of these at a scrap dealer just so I could have the seats and turn them into a gaming chair, up until I looked into how hard that was to make! I'd love to drive that until a massive bill kills it then put the engine into something like an MX5, I'm sure there are many reasons it won't work but I don't care!CharlesdeGaulle said:

A retro car for when you have too many speeding points on your licence - Audi 80 1.8 auto.

I suppose it's all down to perception and taste but when I saw that I thought "£800?" Wooo.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C666329
I love the Senator too. In the late 90s I was working in Aberdeen and used to drive up quite frequently from southern England. I fancied one as a perfect overnight express but decided against it in the end.

When I made this thread I wasn't thinking of best, or good value, just cars that give us that retro feeling at this end of the market!
I'd love to have a long drive in that Senator. For some reason this kind of car appeals to me much more than a 50k modern barge.

Jeez.. When was the last time you saw an FSO?

It's probably an unhealthy obsession I have with generally crap cars, but I really like this: -

I've been looking for an FSO pick-up for ages. I used to work for Mazda UK and transporters would bring in new Polonez. I never did get why they were connected to Mazda? My manager would always say ''For Scrap Only'' and laugh. In fairness, he was a bit of a tit.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1995-FSO-CARS-CARO-GLD-B...

Oh good lord that is amazing. I soooo wish I'd bought one of these when I bummed around Aus for a year instead of a dull but bulletproof Subaru.golfer19 said:

A tough choice between this thread and the barge one for this car. I think on balance the appeal is the retroness of it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Opel-Senator-/1...
Only 51k miles. Lovely.
That is absolutely gorgeous - actually a bit gutted that I'm not in a position to get that, as that's the best one that I can recall seeing in a very long time that isn't stupid-price and they're an itch I need to scratch at some point, plus that's the perfect spec. The closest I've got was my Omega but mine was only the 2.2 and a manual, I liked the car but neither the engine nor gearbox really suited it.Only 51k miles. Lovely.
