I managed a few laps around Mt. Panorama in a squishy Commodore (what else?) a few years ago- it's around 5 times steeper and around 10 times narrower than it looks on film. The left hander at The Cutting is genuinely a struggle to walk up.
Trust me those guys have balls. Big ones.
Todays 'eye catchers':

Just a £50 easyjet away. Worst case you could walk away and spend an evening on the Costa before flying home (or be robbed by some local gangsters).

Not the biggest Targa fan myself though. Can't seem to see what box it has either.

It's not a proper one. Hence its cheapness.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C336949

Can't see the Targa. Bad link.

Where did Derestrictor go? I used to enjoy his prose a lot.
Also Loony, where has he been for last few days? Is his health alright after he said he had chest problems?

I could't get my hole in a bag of donuts just now...
Ah, reminds of the joke about the Glaswegian getting off an aeroplane that's landed at home. There's a queue of people waiting to get off but he can't reach his bag in the overhead locker a couple of rows in front so he taps the woman in front of him and asks "Any chance of getting my holdall" and she turns around and knees him in the bks.LHD said:

It's cos you're a car geek. I've just spent an evening in the boozer with an old pal chatting about the virtues of old cars v new ones, and old motoring related japes we got up to. Even the real ale crew at the bar thought we were strange. God knows what girls would think.Wowsers, I've been away for a week and we're already well in to the next volume!
I'm in Atlanta and it's incredible how many nice cars have horrific 22"+ wheels attached to them.
So far I've seen an Audi A8, SL500, Quattroporte and Lexus LS "rolling" on hip hop wheels in an otherwise sedate suit. Terrible.
I found this shot of my E34 which looks kind of cool but now I'm in a dilema because as of this week it looks like I may have to move across the pond in the very near future. Yes it is dragging it's behind a little; I was planning it's refurbishment program for the coming months but given the now current situation, I'm not sure I want to take it with me.
Finally, I'm getting excited because when I land home on Saturday I'm getting the train North to pick up our new family wagon; a Legacy Wagon 3.0R. Really looking forward to seeing what it's like, especially as I've never driven one, let alone seen and inspected the one I've actually already bought.
Will report back next week when I wake up. Shame I'll probably not have it long given the impending move but I agreed to purchase before this trip. I thought the move overseas would be a while off yet. Funny old world.
P.S. Red wine is good.

Liked the one I drove, very smooth engine and fun to punt around.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
