Interesting mileage on my Ex Plod T5 recently. Still tidy, very lively and strong as an ox.

Had my Golf GTI for just under 2 years, been rock solid, brought the car with 84K, and just done over 110K this month. It's well looked after, and been serviced on time twice every year with the miles I'm am doing at the moment, but the car just keep going strong.

About 20 years ago my father in law gave me his diesel Peugot 505 estate which he'd had from new, fully serviced throughout, with ~185,000 miles on it - mechanicals were great, the only thing that was giving up was the bodywork and window seals. I gave it to someone else at 220,000 miles.

I understand that commercial diesel engines in lorries etc are expected to last far more than that, and if there's no salt on the roads and a will... well, look at Cuba.

My Renault Kangoo is on 154k now, done about 10k since I got it in july. Not really worthy of a photo in here, it's damn reliable though.

It's funny how some people have this hang up about mileage so over 100k. When my daily driver passed that landmark, I posted this photo on the owners club forum and you wouldn't believe the stick I got!

What, asking you why you were still in 3rd at 70mph? smile

Is 100k miles seriously a 'thing'?

Not since the 90's really.
Pretty much anything you buy now will be the exception if it doesn't make 100k.

Now this is the kind of thread that I can add something to. Running cars 'til they go no more is a family trait:
Mum's Minor 1000 Traveller - >200,000 miles (and still going)
Dad's Montego estate ~200,000 miles before the rust finally became too much
My MG Maestro ~175,000 before the same fate befell it
My recently departed 306 XSi - 194,000 and aiming for 200,000 when one day it just stopped working. Sometimes you have to know when to give up.

This grand lady

is missing about 6000 miles on the odometer due to a faulty ABS sensor that took 6 months to diagnose and track down a replacement

still she's only just running in at ~280,000 miles.
(Mostly because I've just got her back from a top to bottom engine rebuild and am driving like Ms. Daisy for the next 500 miles)

Here's to the next quarter million miles!

My girlfriend took control of our Disco3 when it ticked past 200k miles so I "didn't wear it out". Consequently it's clocking up fewer miles now but still going strong.

She's a keeper.

Wow I'm impressed!! With all that torque you'd the clutch and turbo would be toast. I've got the fabia in the post under yours. 175hp and 300ib/ft. Had to change clutch at 100k frown
Forever worried that something big is going to go pop!

Love a VRS me

Not high at all but 115k on my Corsa...

Everything's started to go wrong on it now.. I've had a new exhaust system, rear wheel bearing, handbrake and a massive water leak within the last 200 miles paperbag

Seat Ibiza PD130 - bought 3 years ago at 50k, just approaching 98k and going well. Put a turbo in at the start of this year which cost me £900, so plan is to keep it for a while to come!
LR Defender 110 TD5 - bought last month at 184k, now at 185k! Getting a new gearbox this week, had a new engine 30k ago (coolant hose collapsed causing an overheat). Some body corrosion, crossmember is shot, but chassis is solid so the plan is to bring it back to it's former glory and drive it way past 200k!

I have taken it to the garage..they checked it (for free) and told me its one of two things

1) The heater matrix
2) Windowscreen rubber

They didnt mention the brake servo seal which seems to be the common fault scratchchin

They did remove a lot of st that was under the windowscreen washer bottle, the car is looking better, seems less damp and doesnt take as long to clear the windowscreen for when I want to drive it...

I'm now vac'ing up the water in the footwell irked

Best of luck. Mine hasn't had any of those issues (but I have heard of heater matrix floodings) and by the weekend it will be not far off 200k miles!
