Whilst the prospect of 5 litre V10 is tempting, it's also interesting to note that for what was remarked (at the time) as an incredible engine:- Has about the same power as the current generation 3 litre twin-turbo diesels
- The car is slower than contemporary big V8 petrols
Shonky electrics
Weak gearboxes
About 15mpg
Untraceable miscellaneous faults (juddering, rumbling)
Generally uncomfortable
Ugly wood and plastic interior
Awkward steering wheel
It is pretty quiet though. I still wouldn't even consider one. I can't stand Lexus but I'd much rather have an LS400 if I wanted a quiet, boring and tasteless car.

Rolls-Royce V12?To be fair there is a good chance of that being do-able if all the ignition system is in top shape and the induction system is leak-free, so no idle mis-fire.
Harry Metcalfe does it with the SL600 here:

And even I've done it with a Jag V12.

Decided best course of action is to keep the barge running. It'll cost a fair bit but I think it'll be easier.
When it gets used I'll make sure it's for a good 20-30 miles motorw run. How often should I do this.... Once a week?
I can still nip out once a week and plug my charger on it for a large part of the day.

I reckon that Matt could do it for me once a week, should be ok if it gets a good run out.

Blimey, you've had snow there! We've not had any this way ad yet. Hopefully it'll stay that way!
We had it very thick for a couple of hours yesterday evening, but it had melted by the time I went to bed.I had enough of it last week skiing and I'm supposed to be going again next month!
That journey is a lot of petrol, but I do enjoy the drive!
I averaged 21.8mpg, which made me quite happy.

5 offers too! The PHr that took Brunhilda (our 750il) got a bargain then, Bruni was in a much nicer condition and the cream leather was almost spotless in the back! That back seat looks like Homer's groove. Though Bruni did have the BMW engine. 87k mile 500 at £3,400, quite a fetching colour combination http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...

Yours was much nicer. But I suppose that you pay a premium for that Rolls-Royce engine!
