This should be interesting...........

Whilst the prospect of 5 litre V10 is tempting, it's also interesting to note that for what was remarked (at the time) as an incredible engine:
- Has about the same power as the current generation 3 litre twin-turbo diesels
- The car is slower than contemporary big V8 petrols
Having a good friend who's had one for years:

Shonky electrics
Weak gearboxes
About 15mpg
Untraceable miscellaneous faults (juddering, rumbling)
Generally uncomfortable
Ugly wood and plastic interior
Awkward steering wheel

It is pretty quiet though. I still wouldn't even consider one. I can't stand Lexus but I'd much rather have an LS400 if I wanted a quiet, boring and tasteless car.

what a fkin bellend. I think they've shared some aspects since RR has been owned by BMW, which i think was after this model came out anyway, and they've only just announced an engine-sharing deal this year now that there are smaller RRs on sale. At the point that 750iL was new, RR only did the old school 6.75L V8, AFAIK anyway. So, he's basically just come out with some chinese whispers bullst which was probably wrong from the first whisper.

I'd love to turn up and ask him to show me the balancing a coin in its edge trick. In fact I'd bet him the purchase price it's complete bullst.

To be fair there is a good chance of that being do-able if all the ignition system is in top shape and the induction system is leak-free, so no idle mis-fire.

Harry Metcalfe does it with the SL600 here:

And even I've done it with a Jag V12.

Decided best course of action is to keep the barge running. It'll cost a fair bit but I think it'll be easier.

When it gets used I'll make sure it's for a good 20-30 miles motorw run. How often should I do this.... Once a week?

I can still nip out once a week and plug my charger on it for a large part of the day.
Twice every 10 days
So about once every 5 then hehe

I reckon that Matt could do it for me once a week, should be ok if it gets a good run out.

We had it very thick for a couple of hours yesterday evening, but it had melted by the time I went to bed.

I had enough of it last week skiing and I'm supposed to be going again next month!

That journey is a lot of petrol, but I do enjoy the drive!
I averaged 21.8mpg, which made me quite happy.

Rolls royrce serapth had the BMW V12 (I think it was identical. I remember going to the BMW dealer up the road because Crewe had certain bits on back order). Silly things like the HVAC controls were straight out of a 7 series, and interestingly ash trays were stamped as BMW even on late aranges way after vw took over Bentley.

Rolls Royce used BMW engines in the Seraph (and the early Arnages), however BMW have never used Rolls Royce engines. Because RR used the BMW engine in a RR does not mean that the same BMW engine in a BMW is therefore a RR engine. As you say, what a fking bellend. it's the sort of thing that makes you move onto the next advert, even if you're desperately looking for a 750iL and the car appears a good un.

A couple of inches, and yes I did go and find a nice steep hill - no need to get the car out, but good to test the tyres.

5 offers too! The PHr that took Brunhilda (our 750il) got a bargain then, Bruni was in a much nicer condition and the cream leather was almost spotless in the back! That back seat looks like Homer's groove. hehe Though Bruni did have the BMW engine. wink

Yours was much nicer.

But I suppose that you pay a premium for that Rolls-Royce engine!

Fair play to the seller though - the ad seems to have worked and got them a sale at a good price.

True, and it is a nice car despite the terrible copy.

However,we don't actually know how much the seller got!
