Seems to be amazingly rust free too for a BMW of that age.
It hasn't stopped moving long enough to rust.

I’d say that would be an excellent buy .. one owner from new, properly serviced and averaged 28k a year, when you look at it like that 424k miles doesn’t seem bad at all .. and all for under a grand

What’s not to like ?

To be fair I don't think I've ever seen an E60 with rust. E46s / E39s for sure, but the E90 / E60 era stuff seems to have sorted most of that.

Hoping to get my old E Class up to that mileage, only 180,000 to go. Got to love a 6 cylinder diesel.

My E61 has a rusty bootlid. I broke the number plate lights trying to get them out.

X Police

Mileage not super impressive but mentioned here because I think it's a reasonable price. Also surprised by the high spec. I thought Police cars were really basic.

It's got the leather that looks like it's made from bin liners.

I'm guessing that'll have had a replacement engine. Weren't all the ex police BMW's going through auctions with a hole drilled through the engine block?

Yeah, they've added the wheels, had the windows tinted and stuck on a black grill. To be fair, it'll appeal to more people especially at that end of the market.

I’ve noticed quite often with this seller, they seem to always describe any “unmarked” car as having been an undercover CID car. Like fcensoredk they are! Do they expect that, as it’s not a delightful shade of fridge white, the average punter will believe it was careful plodded around in by carefully driving detectives… when in reality it’s been a traffic car that’s bounced off every other uninsured car in the county and been ragged across country at 120+mph.

Nothing against ex police cars by the way, fridge white or otherwise biglaugh

Undercover CID sounds more mechanically kind than pursuit car..

I bought a new old model S202 C220CDi in 2000 when the new S204 was launched. New, it was reduced to £17,000 and a bargain. Sold in 2013 with 350,000 kms on the clock and the only expenses apart from standard stuff were two new injectors and an aircon pump, so about €3,000. Four years later the car was still running well in the hands of a friend

I don't think anybody has posted this 2010 Honda CR-V 2.0 i-VTEC yet

over 365,000 miles

MOT history is quite interesting - at its first MOT it has a relatively sensible 22,000 miles on it, after that the current seller seems to have hold of it and is whacking on at least 40k a year. I wonder what he was doing with it.

Just goes to show how what these engines are capable of though

There are a number of unusual use cases which necessitate a car being used to get from a long distance a to b regularly, which gain mileage rapidly.
Buying this type of car I believe is somewhat of a bargain due to it being heavily depreciated
The price of high mileage modern cars (post 2014) is phenominal. No bargains or heavy depreciations.
