I service a mk4 v-reg astra (about every 3 months as it happens), which is on 540,000 miles (and counting) - has had a head gasket (replaced by me at circa 265k) and dropped a valve spring at circa 380k (so HG replaced again, although not strictly needed) and serviceable parts throughout and it still drives nicely - on original clutch (!) and box. Best bit? Its a piddly little 1.4 16v
That is seriously impressive! Wow! My 1.6 16v needed either the valve stem oil seals or piston rings done, was burning more oil than it was petrol so I decided to get shot of it.
I am currently driving about in a 2.2 SRI mk4 Astra, so that does give me some hope!

Anyone for an LS400 with 300k on the clock?

I would hate to think how much fuel that thing has gone through!

Good god, if that wasn't 300+ miles away I would probably buy that and flog the Astra! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2013...

Here's a V70 with a lot more than 300k miles...

Wow, good find! I wonder what it is like in the flesh? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2013...
Also all the talk of "do not ask for final price, come and see it before you make an offer" makes me think the seller will probably let it go for less than a grand.
Probably rented out to a company. I worked for a company who paid me to drive a rental all over the Scottish Highlands every day and it was well over 14k when I left.
Mine got a nice easy life - I treated it like my own car and drove it sympathetically. The same cannot be said for some of the others that my colleagues had sadly - I saw a brand new at the time (less than 1000 miles) Fiesta die mechanically at the hands of one of them. Shame.

I really like that, looks to be in great nick too. Depending on the work done then that could be a steal for someone.

Wow!! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...
I wonder how much life is left in that? I would be more put off by the colour than the miles

Pretty sure the mileage on this one is genuine.

I really like that! Mercs of that era are fairly reliable, no? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...

I wonder what the history file looks like.
Far from the highest mileage in this thread, but this looks good for 200k:

And since when did these get so cheap?!
