No doubt drawn with lots of "bbrrrrrrrm, weeeeeeeeeeeeee, brmmmmmm" noises as they day dreamed about watching The Fast and the Furious the previous night.
This is why [we] engineers hate designers stylists felt-tip fairies with a passion. What the hell is going on with those stupid wheels? Really? What size are the rears? 575/05-30? How much suspension travel is thing meant to have with the tyres touching the wheel arches? Doesn't look as though it'll steer, either. They don't "design" anything. That's what the development engineers do.

Idiots.
Spoken like a true engineer spanner monkey. It's a concept sketch FFS. It's supposed to have stupid big wheels, non human cabin proportions and a illegal windscreen rake. It's purpose is to test out the style and make people go "oooooooooh", not to be a accurate illustration.
Typical reply from someone another muppet that doesn't know the difference between a mechanic, technician or engineer. It's "we" that are designing/engineering the cars for crash, NVH, durability & performance. Not the felt-tip fairies but they want all the glory for sketching something that won't work in real life.
Exactly. Look at Giugiaro - his cars are always functional as well as good-looking, mainly because he starts with an engineering brief and works outwards, so his cars will always seat as many people as they're meant to, be possible to see out of, accommodate normal-sized wheels etc.

It's things like this that have made him the world's most successful car designer.

Still not getting the whole concept part are you? I think you fail to see the irony of your dear term for designers, when considered in relation to the above sketch. I won't point it out, perhaps you can figure it out yourself? Just a typical engineer bhing and moaning at what is blatantly a sketch not supposed to be totally representative of the final product. A sketch that I doubt you have the ability to reproduce yourself.
Speaking as a designer, I agree with the engineer. It wouldn't take much effort for a reasonably competent draftsman to get some of the basic proportions right, so the concept is at least feasible.

I think we should all be grateful, it’s nice when someone decides to spend their hard earned money to give the rest of us a laugh.

I look forward with interest to the undriveable concept car at the motorshow and the pretty press release they will put out afterwards saying how many statements of interest they have had. (I do wish they would stop counting people saying "fk me that’s ugly I’d never spend any money on that" as a statement of interest)

Then 18 months of press releases showing half build cars with claims of specification changes which have caused delays and the inevitable rumours of a hardcore track version before the founder moves to Paraguay and stops returning phonecalls.
laugh

But they do give the PH community something to chat about...

Chelfing Automotive?

Anyway, a little bit of legwork suggests that they have a chap called Mark Carbery working for them: former head of communications at Daewoo...
I thought everyone had forgotten about Chelfing. I'll get round to writing the story behind it when I get a mo wink
Can it be a coincidence that CHELFING is an anagram of FELCHING?

Or does it just say something about me that I noticed?

Look at the Jaguar styling concept that's in today's news;

A much more realistic rendition, in my opinion.

Can't say too much about that, but googling chelfing lead me here:

http://chelfing.com/page17.htm

It includes this phrase: "a car for the human with fiscal ability in excess of cerebral capability"

It is the single greatest page on the internet. Bar none. (SFW - no felching).

That is very good indeed!

Some of those ARE real Chinese cars - the Changuan Smart rip-off for one.

Just to avoid confusion; Dong Feng & Hong-qi are NOT joke names like Silius Soddus or Biggus Diccus.

Sounds like one of those teams from The Apprentice. Is this a task from Lord Allen for the filming of the latest series?

"Luxury SUVs are a multi million pound market. I want you to design & develop, in the next two days, a new SUV and have a running prototype by end of play Thursday. You will advertise your cars on the website and will take deposits. The team that takes the most deposits wins, the team that doesn't loses and of that team, one of you will be fired... Off you go"

*** MAD PANIC ENSUES ***

Dappy city-girl who's a bit fit but ultimately bloody annoying: "What's an SUV? Is it some kind of air-plane or something? A motorbike?"

As a quick update to this story (and other threads on Eterniti Motors on PH) if you do a quick search on any of the business information/risk management sites currently, or looked at their website which is 'under maintenance', it looks like Eterniti have applied to be wound up.

If the figures are correct, they have just discovered how to make a small fortune in the car business - by starting out with a big one....

No surprises!

Did they ever release a product?
