I am thoroughly sick of how ageism seems to be legit discrimination on this site. I've just spent the week with an old chap who will only drive and shop at night now because he's embarrassed by his lack of mobility and frequency of using the toilet due to a knackered prostate. And you prick's think its funny.

Roll on your old age. I hope you don't make it.
I would hope you'd realise this is a just a light mickey taking of what some elderly people keep in their cars, rather than a wholesale condemnation of elderly people in general? The best contributors I've spoken to have been "mature" people who have laughed along with it and joined in. If you want contempt for the old, try some of the other threads currently open.

Oh! Oh! I've got an idea! bounce

It appears from the pic that those are alloy wheels, can I suggest that you put a cable tie around a spoke on each wheel?

People will naturally assume that you're an old duffer who started doing that to hold the wheel trims on to your company Cortina and now do it because you are utterly unaware of what you're doing.

Well, I was planning 310-350hp so nothing ludicrous but I would love to see the looks on some people's faces as they disappear in the rear-view mirror after trying to barge an old-mannie's car out the way on the motorway.

If you go out for a drive with your missus, get her to sit in the back seat.

His embarrassment is fk all to do with ageism and lots to do with his old-fashioned ideas that anyone could give a st about his lack of mobility and incontinence (that's give a st as in be bothered by it, not about it, if you catch my drift) I'm sure he'd be more than a little annoyed at your righteous indignation on his behalf too. Perhaps you could explain how wishing someone doesn't make it to old age bolsters your position in any way...

Wind your neck in, FFS!

Also, you meant 'you pricks think it's funny'. You prick.

This thread is really funny.
My gf slags me for the grandad gold merc.

I'd be looking for a fue orange air freshner. Tartan rug. Keep it immaculate. The aa badge on the grille. Original style number plates. Beaded passenger seat for the misses. Wind deflectors on both front windows and sunroof. A map. No sat nav. In view.

Install heated seat elements (in the seats, obviously). Slowly turn them up to lukewarm for that "just pissed myself" feeling.

some details....

You'll notice the rug and optional armrests in the last picture. What's letting it down is the copy of Brothers In Arms on the passenger seat. I fear I will have to acquire a Foster & Allen compilation to make up for it.

So far i think you are going in the right direction. The diesel only sticker is very helpful. Maybe a duster on the dash may come in handy. It may cloud your vision a little in the sunlight but very handy.
