Would explain why it's as long as an E34 5 series!

Nice, but not the kind of money I'd be willing to spend on it unless it's like driving a mini-LFA or something, I doubt it is. As for the M-car slaying stats, that's what was said about the ISF, which was also very nice. Nobody gave a toss about that either.

I'll stick with my choice of hellcat powered challenger or a new c63.

Its actually based the GS series platform i believe.
No, its effectively an IS coupe but the IS shares a chunk of its platform with the GS, its the same size as an M4 and rear seat space is fine

thumbup

Will it have a flap for the exhaust? And I just hope that the press cars come with the diff and it doesn't take 3 years in the dev cycle to be on par with the m3.

Love the aggressiveness of the RCF, the M4 looks irritated. The RCF looks like it's going to eat you.

Can't ignore Lexus reliability, build quality and their dealer network.

Have no doubt that it will be more involving to drive than the M4, but unfortunately that's not going to make it a success.

The RCF is longer than the new ISF it's based on, though. 10 years ago, it would be a 5 series rival!
Yeah, but the Maserati GranTurismo is huge! There are two that are in my parking garage and whilst absolutely gorgeous they are much larger than the RCF that I saw in Canary Wharf earlier this week.

I have a feeling this will be a hell of a car. Of course, if the Dodge Challenger Hellcat was actually available I would definitely try it first.

Would buy it over the M4 for the V8 alone!

Worth noting both version come with a LSD, however you can upgrade the LSD in the 'base' model to the Torqe Vectoring version that comes standard on the carbon model.

I have no idea what you're talking about but even if it was true, have you considered the fact that there are some genuine driving enthusiasts out there who care about other things than image and what other people may think ? I appreciate this is only PH, but still...

Everyone cares about there image and what others think that's just normal human behaviour but it's not good to take that to extremes....discounting a perfectly good car solely on the basis of some very obscure stereotype ??? Seems more than a bit OTT even by the standards of the overly image conscientious

That image is associated with older sofa type lexus cars do give it up!

Peoples stupidity when it comes to certain brands never ceases to amaze me.

Had similar nonsense when I bought a my skoda fabia vrs mk1.

The one that was at Canary Wharf last week looked lovely with the carbon pack. Roll on the second hand bargains.

I actually really like it and would love to be in the position of choosing between it and an M4. There's nothing wrong with Lexus / Toyota IMO (but then again I'm not a badge snob) - As for those saying the styling is dull...I just don't understand you.

First driving impressions have been posted by US magazine Car and Driver:

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2015-lexus-rc-...

Posting this on mobile so I didn't link it properly. Anyway, I have to say I am a bit disappointed. It's really heavy and understeers without the torque vectoring differential according to this review.

i am not wild about the front but overall i think it's a more interesting shape than many of the Germans.

does anyone know if they'll make an RC-non-F?

If so you'd imagine THAT car might look a bit peculiar - a bit like how non-M3/4 coupes of e92 and Fi can;t be bothered to remember the number look a bit weak in the area under the rear side window/around the arches comapred to the saloons and M3/4 versions..

There will be non 'F' versions of the car yes and specs are out there i believe. Depending on 3 year old prices ill be VERY interested in this car when moving on from my IS-f. Unique, powerful, great looks (IMO appreciate this is subjective), lexus reliability. Agree TVD should be standard.

it was always going to be a bit 'fat' but i would be surprised if the 0-60 is more than 4.2, trivial but a lot of people pin car purchase on 0-60 being a key 'Pub chat' attribute.
