RE: Ferrari announces F60America

Didn't one of their recent models come with the simplest most practical and easy to use convertible tops ever made ? A carbon fibre top, pivoted, and simply swung back into the contours of the rear, and swung back again to close. Guess even at this level they're now cutting corners with their ''Bit of flimsy fabric'' ?!!
I've heard the 575 SuperAmerica tops were very troublesome. I know a guy who owns one and his was having issues. From what I understand, the problem isn't cheap to fix!kambites said:
It has to be said they, they clearly know their market if they've found ten people who will pay that much for it.
Indeed. It doesn't really matter what we think of it, as they've accomplished their mission and sold all ten. So that's $25 million worth of cars Ferrari have sold, with only ten cars. They would have to sell almost 100 458 Spiders to achieve the same sales figure. I'd say that's pretty smart, assuming it doesn't cost Ferrari too much more to make the F60A than a "regular" F12.Some say it's a conspiracy......
Ferrari tell the world that the 10 F60America customers have paid $2.5m (£1.56 million) for the privilege.
Ferrari tell the 10 F60America customers that in fact they are much less than that, but the press release showing an extremely high price will protect their investment.
Just sign the disclaimer & don't let any journo's know on pain of being blacklisted.

Let me get this right for Ferrari's 40th they brought us a bespoke creation called the F40 and for there 50th they brought us another bespoke creation called the F50. So the car that gains the F60 moniker is basically a rebodied F12.
WTF is going on Ferrari!!!
The clue is in the name !WTF is going on Ferrari!!!
F60 America
A limmited edition of 10 examples to celebrate 60 years of selling cars in North America.
Granted the the F60 designation on it's own can lead to confusion, and as it seem a bucket load of hate !
However it is worth noting the Enzo was never designated the F60 by the factory, this was just a tag applied to it by the press or those just looking to add a chronological order to the specials.
The same is can be said for La Ferrari. It's official factory name is La Ferrari and not the F70 !
So in view of that there is no issue in calling this limited run special the F60 !
It's never likely to depreciate and will probably appreciate in time so it's not going to be a bad place to put your money.
The owners will have been offered the car by Ferrari so they will be major collectors with probably dozens of other cars. The price is immaterial.
Would I buy one even if I had the cash? no.
Would I make it if I owned Ferrari? absolutely.

When you get to this level you aren't dealing with values the likes of even well off people can relate to.
Ferrari has an amazing brand value, people want to own one, to be associated with them in some way and that means they can make and sell cars at crazy prices.
Pretty much all Ferraris and I even include standard fare like the 360 have at least held their value over the last couple of years and now they are limiting production and increasing the unit cost with their personalisation the entry to the club is only going one way.
Not so long ago Mondials and 308 GT4's were virtually impossible to sell, not so now.
So, whether you love or hate this particular car you can't escape from the fact that Ferrari is the most sought after car in the world and if you have one, beleive me every time you sit in it, start it, clean it or park it, you feel fantastic, you know you have something very special indeed.

I still have to pinch myself whenever I open the garage and see the F430 sitting there

I've a 360 spider. I sometimes just start it (tubi exhaust) reverse it out of the garage and lower the roof with the engine running. Then I turn it off and if it's not raining leave it on the drive as I go about my day. I still have to pinch myself whenever I open the garage and see the F430 sitting there
Every time I catch a glimpse of it from a window, when I walk to the shop, when I put something in the bin or nip to the garage it makes me feel amazing.
I know a non owner will consider me a knob for not ragging it and driving it more. They simply won't understand the emotions you go through owning one of these cars.
Mine is SORNED from October to March but still I pull it out, clean it and look at it thinking I own a Ferrari I OWN A FERRARI!!!!!! Even thinking about it makes me feel special.

Within hours of picking mine (in June) I had disconnected the exhaust valves so it runs open all the time.
It's loud all the time, which is how they should be of course !
Did a photo shhot with photographe friend of mine a couple of weeks ago.
Gurston Down very kindly let use there facilities for the afternoon.
Here's a few low res sample pics from the session.
I'll have the high res soon which are good enough for large size poster prints

Which you'll have framed and put on your office/garage/den wall.Within hours of picking mine (in June) I had disconnected the exhaust valves so it runs open all the time.

Others will ask why? It's just a car but of course it's not just a car and that's what a non owner will struggle (if ever) to understand.

I already have the printing chappie lined up. A friend of the photograher
You know what, I look at it like this.
This is what makes me happy. I bought the car for my own enjoyment and to fulfil a life long dream of owning a Ferrari.

anyone who thinks this won't depreciate is insane.
An owner of this will be unconcerned by future value. He'll have exclusivity and the experience of owning a work of art.I'm sure they'll have other investments way beyond the realms that we can imagine.
For me, if I could afford to own a car like this it wouldn't matter if it were worth £10,000 a week later, there are only ten, I have one, 300 million others in the US don't and whether I drove it or just looked at it that'd be enough.
