Been a fan of these (one of the few Alfas that I am) ever since watching Roger Moore thrashing one around Germany in Octopussy as a child - that noise... lick

Beautiful car, but never £20k worth.
Like any car, it's "worth" is whatever someone will pay
Could be 2k or 20k or for some older Italian cars......... 15 million

Probably the most disappointing car I have ever owned. I later had a 75, which was nicer is every way except the looks (IMHO!)

Could have got one of those for R35000 in around 2001. Had been rebodied after a crash. It preferred right hand corners to left handers and the engine wasn't pulling strongly - could have been tuning and setup but I walked away.

I still want a 3.0 in my life.

I got the 155 Q4 (basically a Lancia Delta Integrale in an Alfa body) cheap because the tax system in the French-speaking part of Belgium is based on real HP whereas in the Flemish area it is based on engine size (this is a bit simplified but basically correct) - so the previous owner couldn't afford to register and tax the car. A Q4 is still a cheap car (imagine what price a factory Delta Integrale with less than 20000 km would be), but I got a real bargain.

The 1750 was a bargain because the guy didn't really know what he had for sale. I went expecting a pretty rough example based on the price (and it needs a small amount of cosmetic work to make it good). I've bought an Alfaholics fast road kit and also a full set of polybushes, but haven't got round to fitting them.

The guy could easily have asked €12000 for the car in the state it was and it wouldn't have been too much, but I paid the price he asked.
The 1750 is the bargain of the century biggrin. I paid 9k€ for a 71 1750 Spider + put in around 4k€ :/ Well at least the bodywork was all original.
Enjoy those beauties! biggrin

I love these, I hope to get my hands on one some day. For anyone that's interested, another Alfetta variant is the GTV8 produced by Autodelta for the German market - essentially a GTV with the Montreal 2.6 V8!

The price doesn't surprise me - as someone mentioned earlier, Hollybrook seems to have slapped some hefty price tags on some cars. I remember they had a 75 3.0 QV for sale a while back, and though it looked very nice, £10K was a bit steep...

Having restored a number of Alfa's and Lancia's, even if you could get new parts for a GTV6 to have a nearly new example would cost a lot more than £20k, just ask Alex Jupe. I have done a GTV 6 to 3.0 litre spec so know. Hollybrook sell there stock okay so prices must reflect the market and condition of the vehicles.

I have a few of this 2.5:

Does it sound good?

I love it when the rear drops an inch or two and the Busso sound gets into the red zone!

Funny pun actually, I remember whe Alfa used to put a bet in car mags that if you test drove a Capri 2.8i and the Alfa they'd give you £25 if you bought the Ford.

I had one of these in the early 90's, was quite unrealiable (wiring/clutch), but otherwise, I loved it. Sounds like no other V6 (or much else for that matter - amazing).

Would love another one, very rare now!

£20k? A big price hike from recent ones I've seen. If I was rich, I'd bite his hand off.

There's a lot of controversy over the GTV8 and how many were ever built. Would seem that only 2 or 3 were ever made of the initial intention to build 100. They weren't built by Autodelta, though. They were built by Delta Autotechnik or Reif (can never remember which) but they went bust after they'd only finished 3 cars. Autodelta did build a 3.0 V8 GTV with 32V head for rallying nicknamed La Bomba but that was the red car shown above. Only two of those were made and at least one replica is know about as well.

Anal fact, the 2600 badge was actually a BMW 2800 badge with a bit cut out!

Hmm... take the GTV6 or the 155 Q4 - difficult choice!

Add the Mk2 1750 GTV and S4 Spider into the mix and I never know which one to choose. nuts

Sorry - currently on the second bottle - unbelievably good day all things considered!

GTV6: top notch and my pick of the crop

155 Q4: the bad boys choice, if you want quick and get noticed / understatement with a soundbyte

Bertone Mk2 1750 GTV: a beautiful GT with a luverly raunchy 4 on Webers / I'd buy one of these NOW

S4 Spider: perfect all-rounder and I don't get it if folks pick up an MGB for similar money > I mean: c'mon!
