Bentley badge on a Chrysler 300C!

Just saw this in the trader:

So 9K for a 42,000 mile fully loaded 5.7 V8 monster like that! Looks like an absolute bargain. I remember when it was on top gear, and Jeremy Clarkson slated it, thinking I like that plenty.
It looks great, has a great big fat engine, seems quick enough, reasonable mpg, fabulous interior.......why the downer?
Prefer the grille on this one, to the Bentley one.

These mods do make it look Bentleyish to non petrolheads. I had a Bentley pointed out to me on Friday by a friend, and corrected him on it being a 300C. The guy is certainly not stupid, just not a car fan.
Why are the people who do this to their cars being slated for having different taste? Taste is unique, and part of what makes us individuals. I think they look fugly, as well as being bad cars, and would not do this myself, but can see the appeal. You want a Bentley but only have £10-20k to spend... buy a 300C. Also doesnt handle and has a huge V8.
I think money spent modding cars should be spent on improving performance, or be saved for buying a better car. But that is my opinion. Others have their own. One of my favourite cars is a friends late 90's E55. Its debadged and other than AMG wheels looks to the untrained eye like an E240. But fk does it move. That is my taste, discreet yet powerful.
Others don;t care much about performance: they just want people to think they have a nice car. A friend of mine just bought a 1.4 Golf for this reason. Its actually slower than my 1.2 Punto but it looks better.

I don't get why some of you guys have such a big downer on the 300C, it is what it is and the Guys that stick the Bentley badge on are surely just taking the mickey out of Bentley owners who have spent large amounts of money to get the "Charlie Cream Slice" experience when all they needed to do was buy a 300C for a fraction of the cost.
But tbh, I don't think the majority are actually trying to take the piss.Similar delusion to 316i owner putting on M3 badges...(rather than M5 owner putting on 520i badges).

Its a nice car, especially the SRT model but putting Bentley badges on it is just tragic, it isnt tongue in cheek it is desgined to fool people into thinking it is something more expensive than it is, it will fool those who wear bobble hats and keep minibus windows spotless but anyone else thinks you are a knobhead with delusions of grandure.
I dont know what it is about the poor old 300C that attacts anky Lio conversion, Lambo Doors and Bentley fantasies.
Thing is, even if it fooled people on here, tey would only slag it for being a footballers Bentley.
So, to some up, nice enough motor, dont try to big it up as it doesnt need it.
Absolutely this. It is a nice car and undoubtedly has road presence, but folks badging it up as a Bentley WANT other people to think it is a Bentley.I dont know what it is about the poor old 300C that attacts anky Lio conversion, Lambo Doors and Bentley fantasies.

Laughable. Enjoy it for what it is I say.
Another 300C owner here (SRT8) and I have never seen the comparison to a Bentley, I just don't see it. I always have a chuckle when I see those badges, very sad!
We were at the HPOM at Broadlands last year when a couple were looking around the cars, the woman asked her other half what my car was, a Bentley he says, she looked inside and said 'It's a bit utilitarian isn't it?'
Funniest thing I'd heard for ages!
I bought mine purely on external looks and performance, and the SRT8 version is a very serious car for the money, very tuneable too!
