Agreed.

An oldie, but a goodie - looked equally as good, if not better, than most of the E30 saloons.

yes

A much more cohesive design than the E36 too; just looks right

Whereas this is all wrong

I'd have to go for a modern day 32* M Sport Tourer or an A4 Avant S-Line... Both now great looking in the right colour with some nice wheel options. Also like the look of the Renault Laguna GT Tourer which is very well equipped for the price.

Edit: Apologies for the huge image!

Best looking estate is a hard question to answer. For me it's a battle between the Alfa 159 Sportwagon, Audi RS6 Avant and the Holden Clubsport R8 Tourer

Worst looking estate? That's easy - it's got to be the Chrysler 300C Touring.

Has to be the 156 or the 159 Ti.

Note to posters: Hugely oversize wheels, stretched tyres, and slightly-longer-than-standard-hatchbacks aren't exactly endearing.

The words "best looking" along with "estate car" seem to be evading some people.

I think the last generation Accord is a pretty good looker considering it's nothing special underneath (at least in diesel form):

This thread is cloud9

The T5-R just looks right fron any angle, and the E30 BMW's are so nice. Off to peruse the classifieds, i reckon i need another estate to go with my current one.

The Volvo still has it nailed as the best looking estate, i think it is just my memories of seeing them race, but yeah, they really designed that Box with a bonnet right.

To me, that's up there with the old Laguna as a bad example of estate styling - it just looks uncomfortable, as though someone's hurriedly cobbled an extra bit onto the back of the saloon/hatch.

Absolutely - the only attractive estates are those whose side windows follow a line from front to back, with no awkward breaks in the lines caused by manufacturers re-using the doors from the hatch/saloon to save costs. Sorry to the Impreza fans, but the Subaru estates are gopping IMHO because the additional bits look so stuck-on.
