Methinks he tried to straight line the little kink at the end of your driveway and fked it up big time, it looks straighter than it actually is.

Very strange. Look at the tyre marks in the grass, they are just tyre marks, not skid marks. ? its extremly easy to lock up on grass. We all know that. was he getting noshed at the wheel and dozed off post jizz?

So did the driver give any excuse? What sort of time did it happen?

I assume his insurance will be paying for a new fence etc?

Agreed. It seems that the police turn a blind eye to taxi drivers for some reason.
Because they get the pissed people off the streets, and the faster the better so there's less violence perhaps ?
Really? rolleyes

Speeding through 30's is acceptable because they are removing drunks from town centres?

Just got back, thought I would answer a couple of questions.
Tyre started life as one of these

I am not saying the state of the tyres in any way contributed to the 'off' and brakeing across that field would have been of little value. He could have yanked the handbrake and brought the rear end round to avoid the ditch, but he would have had no idea it was there until one of his passengers proclaimed " oh st, look out for that.....ditch"
There is NO WAY his front tyres would pass an MOT, the police confirmed this, but for the purpose of prosecution they were on the limit.
To those who question what the fuss about the tyres is all about, well if you ordered a Taxi on a rainy night and this front wheel drive Pug turned up, assuming you spotted the state of the tyres, would you get in, well would you?
Yes the plate on the Cerb is questionable, but it does pass MOT, and as yet, a technicaly incorrect spacing on a number plate has not yet been known to cause injury to any living thing. rolleyes

NO prosecution for the driver, and the Taxi firms insurance will be paying for the fence.
Gonna spend the afternoon mowing the lawn due to the observations made, come on guys, its Spring, only just started to grow. I will post pictures in a month so you can admire the evenness of my cut and perfectly straight lines from the roller.

hehe If that tyre started out in life like that, then it's as buggered as a very buggered thing in that photo after the crash! I'm astonished that the police aren't going to prosecute, but then, if there are no witnesses to say anything other than his story that he was avoiding an unknown vehicle..

Glad that nobody was hurt in this one - well, not you or your family or the guy's passenger's arse, anyway wink

Oh, and..

Tyres are boarderline looking at them, picture isn't clear enough to see if they have worn into the TWI.

Amazing nobody was hurt.

You may want to provide his insurance company with the pictures and enquire as to whether he has declared the alloys on his policy.

Do you need to let your Buildings Insurance company know that your boundary was breached?

The driver is unlucky he didn't die - tw@t.

As as responsible taxi company owner, I would never, ever run a vehicle on tyres like that. I would also never run anything as old as a 406 either. Christ alive it's got to have nearly 300k at least on the clock.

The driver would never pass muster either. Chav dress code doesn't cut it with me I'm afraid.

I know minicab firms are generally run by utter wkers who take passenger safety as a necessary evil and try to get away with the minimum. This bloke would have been out the door five minutes after the 'boss, I've a problem...' phone call if he worked for me. No doubt this firm will have him back at work this evening in another shed on wheels.

I had a 58 plate 407SW land on it's roof in a ditch in the ice and snow in December. Plod turned up and because it wasn't causing an obstruction, were happy to leave it there. NFA sir. Move it at your convenience. He gracefully slid into the ditch at walking speed having all four wheels locked up on a sheet of black ice. Nothing as impressive as a diesel 406 in your front garden!!

I'm not going to get into that tyre debate but that takes some doing!!! Saying that though i have been in taxi's with more damage on them. hehe

Nice TVR's and House there.

Was i the only person that thought to myself , WOW in Oxford they have Vauxhall Insignia SRI Estates as police cars biggrin. Where as in Chesterfield we have basic '08' plate Vauxhall Astra's.
