What were you thinking PH, this takes the piss!

The bloke is a , end of. He is a common criminal, because it happens to relate to cars you're giving him a platform to voice his opinions and story.

Tell you what, I'll pop down to your offices, take a couple of the PH cars and maybe pop in and turn one or two of your houses over. Let's see how you feel about printing my story on the front page where I can justify my actions!

10/10 for taste in cars
1/10 for intelligence - £51k a year job and turns up to work in a 348....c'mon really spot the criminal

Interesting reading though - I don't think anyone decent would condone what he did but it is interesting to read none the less.

And it probably took some kahunas to write, i'd be too embarressed.

Like some others I'll wait to see how this tale pans out before making a final judgement, but my feeling right now is that PH is being used as a platform for a thieving bd to get exposure and make money out of his crimes with no intention of the latter being used to try and compensate his victims. I hope he's not getting paid and his story is suitably contrite but I shan't be holding my breath.
Agreed. Storyteller appears a little 'up himself' and this is a massive mistake for an editorial.

This makes me a little nauseous. Not PH at all IMHO. From the Accountancy Age article:

"Munroe claimed he needed time off to visit his son in Great Ormond Street hospital in London"

Not just a thief but a vile lying toad who is happy to use a pretend sick child to provide an alibi. Why is PH giving him a platform?

I think the majority has spoken here. This guy is scum and we do not want to read his story or help him in his search for attention.

Please Pistonheads, cancel the other instalments. Maybe this thief will really understand what he is when he realises that real car enthusiasts want nothing to do with him and are not interested in his overwritten tale.

he won't reveal the mechanics of the fraud, which is the only interesting part. the rest is just fantasist bullst of which we have plenty enough already on here.

Interesting stuff, although it's even more entertaining to see the English react here - because there is nothing worst than stealing money and it's all his fault because he's bad. What I see - as an outsider - is the system that made it possible and the society he was part of that provided ample motivation. Can't wait to see how he bought a dozen cars and a race team on just a few million quids; inspiration for all of us with easy access to credit...

I think he should not have written it in the first person and should have shortened the part about remorse and how wrong he now feels it was. This website is about cars and he got the ride we all dream about - before morals normally stop us.

There are many more PHers than have posted here so how a majority can have been achieved is beyond me. I have absolutely no interest in many of the posts on here but I don't implore PH to lock the thread. Some of them I find in bad taste but I won't try and impose my opinion on others by asking PH to remove them.

We all paid for his cars through his HMRC exploits!

Got to say, looking at what he bought, he made £2.8 million go an awfully long way. Must've been one hell of an accountant... wink

But bga, that's not the point.

This isn't just some peurile thread that we can choose to ignore.

This is a PH editorial piece. As such it is being endorsed by PH. And that, in my view, is wrong.

Bad call PH.
+1

I would far prefer to hear about someone that has scrimped and saved to keep an original Mini on the road and how it is their P&J rather than this tt telling us Aesop's fables.

Sorry.

To be honest, as someone who was on the fringes of this story when he went racing, I am interested in the article and would like to read then next instalments to hear events from his side.

That said the last place I expected to find it was on PH.

That would be too boring. We should get a story on the Night Stalker... it's car-related, he had a Rover. Possibly with a K Series engine, I'd be interested to hear his tales of fleeing the scene wondering if his head gasket was just about to go. Living on the edge man. Maybe he could share his experiences of heroic self-maintenance on the car.
